Description

When Peru invaded Colombia in 1932 and seized Leticia, Colombia was appalled. There was this huge, insurmountable problem, though. Colombia didn't have any roads that could reach the city. The rivers that flowed between the city and the heartland of Colombia couldn't be safely navigated by boats. The leaders of Colombia then sent hundreds of troops around the coast, through the Panama Canal, and up the Amazon river before they could launch their counter-attack!

A lot of my map projects have focused on heavily industralized and modern urban scenarios. I wanted to focus on the Leticia Incident and the Battle of Gueppi to show the alternative: people fighting each other in almost completely untamed wilderness and jungle. it also gave me a chance to make some really fun biplane skins!
