Pretty cool idea actually. It would prevent the invasion force from just hunkering down and waiting for bombardment strikes.
I see both sides. The easiest way to stop a bombing run is AA turrets, while the easiest way to stop an orbital strike is shield generators. I could see this as a viable mechanic as long as the recharge/CD is doubled or even tripled (on smaller maps).
Losing your ability to due a bombing run is fair if you're on the defense since you lost control of space, it's a double edged sword, honestly.
Can you even call in bombing runs on defense??
No, the Defending Ground Troops can't call a Bombing Run

I noticed a mistake with this structure I do not know if you have already corrected them but the TIE Fighter are not stationed on the platform but in the field next door, almost buried in the ground in the 2.5 version
