I tried this but it does not work for me. I put all in the right location, started from the new EXE, then loaded the last save that I know work. Traveled through garbage again, and everytime I transition to new area, it ALWAYS CTD-ed. Anyway I can post the save to you guys to analyze?

Only initial work on r3 has been done in this patch. It doesn't have r3 dll yet.

R1 -> Static Lightning / R2 -> Full Dynamic Lightning.

Do not choose R3 in the game's settings.

Installed this patch, (just overwritten Bin files). Works however I have a very strange issue, Half of the game sounds are missing.
First person gun fire sounds work,as do reloads and weapon switch, however bullets impacting surfaces, footsteps and NPC Chat, including guitar sounds are absent.

Am I missing something? All I did was copy the patch files. Ill try re-installing it as I tried starting a new game just in case.

Done that now.. no difference, even tried deleting user.ltx and a separate install w/o ENB.

I have a feeling patch 1.0008b1 does not work well with the GOG version

I always get this when i load a quicksave in the Agroprom Underground.
I guess this fixes this, right ? I dont want to start a new game so i now ask if i can use this with a savegame

I'd definitely recommend starting a new game since the released SoC source code is apparently at 1.0007b which means GSC has changed something since 1.0006.
To make sure delete all your configs and saves.

Starting a new game would be a bit sad because i had a really good start (Found the skinner anomaly)
But i guess it will be even greater when i play it when izs actually autumm :P

Stalkers,

there is possibility we've finally found (thanks to our polish comrade Jinx) fix on corrupted saved games. If tests will be successful, we are going to move AA2 2.05.01 on patch 1.00008 which has engine's fixes and other improvements. There are people who play v2.05.01 version on this patch and they wrote on 4chan /vg/ forums:

*"I'm playing AA2 with 1.00008-b1 with zero crashes."

*"I have played AA2 on codebro's 1.0008b-fix1 and never had my saves corrupted, only had a CTD once (some particle error near that spooky door in x-18). I've clocked about 20 hours now, I've been to Yantar to say hi to eggheads, but haven't been to x-16 yet."

*"used 1.0008b-fix1 to Yantar with no corrupted saves, but lots of AA2 players don't have the corruption problem without it."

There are also nice improvements like grass distance and fov changeable in game by console. To change your FOV just open the console and type:

*fov [your value]

To change grass distance, type:

*r__detail_radius

Installation procedure: put loose files to your /bin directory and replace all files. Then run the game from new xr3da.exe (it has disabled fps cap and it allows on use of 4gb RAM memory.

If you don't have installed VCRedist, install it: Microsoft.com (x86 version).

It seems that new game it's necessary. Still, we don't know as they might work initially but there may be something wrong with them already.
