Assault Coop Mod is all about co-op! It brings you the joy of assault mode and turning it into player vs. AI action. Each map will include save points, objectives, events, and even a mini-storyline to it. You will fight to complete the mission along with your friends and along with some AI allies.

Can this scale down to internet play, or are the bandwidth demands so big that it has to be LAN only?

The patch required to play this is sadly no longer allowed online. If you wish to play online with your friends then you can get the v2.0 pre. Only thing that seperates 2.0pre from assault coop LAN is that Assault coop LAN is able to play with the farcry 1.1 patch without clients going out of sync. 2.0 pre uses the farcry 1.4 patch which has problem with the sync wit the client. Look into the assault coop section for more details.
I don't know if there is in this mod, but I know it's pretty easy to make. Just make an npc with it's species tag set to 0 and he'll be an ally. I actually made a personal lever a while ago where you have to defend the center of a small island from tons of mutants with a squad of black-ops mercs XD that was fun.
