THE UNOFFICIAL, UNAUTHORIZED, AND HIGHLY ANTICIPATED SEQUEL TO USS DARKSTAR
Many moons ago, I asked Neil Manke if he would do a sequel to USS Darkstar, since it said at the end "To Be Continued..." Due to changing times via PC Gamer, he said it was extremely unlikely. I asked him if I had the time if I could do it. He seemed cool with that. So behold, I, with some help, will create the sequel to USS Darkstar that we never got to have. Bear in mind that this is unofficial, and for legal reasons I can't call it "Darkstar" in the title, but my friends, you will know what it is when I plaster it all over the spaceship that explodes in the opening scene of "Ascension".
Gameplay:
Gameplay will be much like it was with the first Darkstar, but with new enemies and new locations. It should be very pretty, I can guarantee you that much. Maybe driveable vehicles? I'm not sure if I'll be able to feasibly incorporate them into the storyline. Maybe you could ride on the back of a dinosaur thing. Maybe fly a spaceship. Yeah. I like the sound of that.
Story:
The story pretty much picks up where the first one left off. You're Gordon Freeman, and you're in an escape pod flying away as the Darkstar explodes. (I may even explain why you're Gordon Freeman in 2066 when you'd have to be 95 years old.)You're being followed by an alien spacecraft. You crash land on a planet. Some ground missions maybe? You're picked up and request to go to a space station, but things aren't the way they're supposed to be...
Weapons:
Believe you me, there WILL be new weapons. There should be at least two freaky deaky alien weapons. Maybe more? I don't know yet. I want to put the scope back on the 357 and, I'll promise you one thing for certain: No cliched M4 ala Aliens. I promise. I sure hope that trend doesn't transfer to HL2.
Characters:
There's an alien spacecraft on your butt. Hm, is it the Xen? Is it species X? I don't know. Maybe. Or maybe it's a completely new race of beings. I think I'll go with the latter. I mean, why not? We could use another unexplained race of aliens. Fun for the whole family!

Whoever is interested, this mod is not dead. It is just under new management.
I asked Manke about the name but he said that if I used the HL1 engine I could call it Darkstar 2, but if I used Source I couldn't. I don't know why. I think with HL1 he could secure the rights with PC Gamer or something. I wish I could call it Darkstar 2, but I can't.
Soooo...do you have to call it Ascension??? why can't that just be like a name of a a general boss??? and ask Manke if you can name it USS Darkstar part 2:Alien Assault somthing that will let the name stick out so it will let people know that it is really a seqeaul???
Well, you see I'm a college student and I just got out of classes for the semester, and I hope to have an accurate representation of the Darkstar done pretty soon. I say accurate because Brian sent me a rough version of what it will look like, and I don't want to post it because it gives the wrong impression of what to expect. I mean, if you insist I could put it on here. But trust me, in its current state it ain't pretty.
Is there ever going to be another media release?!?! I want to see more of this game!! Thank you for complying!

Well you see, I didn't update. I just want people to know that I haven't abandoned them already, and I don't want people to give up hope like those mods that say "updated 24 months ago" I do have another mapper though.
what did you update? i don't see many changes?
