Angels Fall First: Planetstorm is an objective-based assault game fought both in space and on the ground. Featuring totally original art and completely new game types, we take you from flying gigantic capital ships, piloting fighters, and manning turrets to the traditional vehicular and infantry combat, both planet-side and inside the starships themselves. At your command are more than two dozen ships and vehicles, including all original weaponry, 3 maps with full bot support, two custom characters, with more on the way. This is a <b>total</b> conversion mod in the fullest sense of the word. Welcome to Planetstorm.

PLANETSTORM RC5 RELEASED!
Finally. After much tweakage and sleepless nights, we're ready to release an enhanced version of the MSUC Phase 4 release of Planetstorm. Once again, we apologize for the delay, but certain bugs just had to be fixed.
The good news is it's here. And we've put the time spent fixing into adding new features as well. In addition to the core gameplay improvements, here are some of the things to expect for this release:
- Our old capital ship models have been replaced completely with gloriously detailed new versions. Named after some of our loyal Saturday Smackdown Express players, :) a big thanks to the bunch.
- Two new space maps, AFF-Kerrat - set in orbit around a dying sun; and AFF-Ixion, which features the Halifax station, the site of the Crowning Day Massacre. As well as streamlined and reworked versions of the previous maps AFF-Meudeverre, the Sea of Ice and home of the hidden Antarean outpost Aquila 9; and AFF-Errah, a surface assault on the mining and production facilities of an Antarean-occupied desert planet.
- Improvements to vehicle handling and weapons. All vehicles now have different camera modes for easier steering and aiming. Surface vehicles via the mousewheel, and spaceships via a new 'changecamera' keybind.
- Improvements to infantry weapons. The sidearm is now always available, the amount of ammunition you can carry has been increased, all weapons are now visible in first person, and the amount of movement sway reduced to more realistic levels.
- Added pregame briefing screens with objectives and a few gameplay tips
- Two brand new character models with more to come.
- Squad order command via the 'command menu' keybind (Default 'V'). Press to bring up marker, press a second time for context-sensitive actions. Recall your squad with the 'followme' keybind.
We are also glad to welcome aboard Xyx from the XS Harpy UT3 Mutator team, who in a span of a few days have already started to bring the surface vehicles closer to what they are meant to be in their final form. As usual, big props to the AFF team. :) A more detailed changelog can be viewed in the readme file included in the release. Anyway... enough with the talk. Let's show you guys some ingame action! :)

INSTALLATION
- If installing to the same location as a previous version of Planetstorm, delete all the contents of the directory first or run the uninstaller.
- Ensure UT3 is patched to version 2.1 (Steam installs will have done this automatically unless specified otherwise)
- Run the AFF:Planetstorm Installer EXE
- You will be asked to locate your install of UT3.
- The installer also supports Steam installations of UT3, so if you have your UT3 on Steam, select this option - default locations are provided.
- You will then be asked where you would like to install the AFF:Planetstorm Mod, default is C:/Program Files/AFFPlanetstorm/. Select a location and hit Next. DO NOT install the mod in UT3's install directory. On Vista it is recommended to NOT install Planetstorm in the suggested Program Files location unless user is Administrator and has UAC disabled.
- The installer will now install AFF:Planetstorm and create shortcuts for the game and the editor.
- If you are having problems with the installation, don't hesitate to ask us in our Forums.

Looks good but there are only two downloads so far so no point in getting this mod right now, or so it seems.
It's playable offline against bots if that's your concern. Otherwise you're not making much sense- the download has only just gone live, and all our previous versions have racked up tens of thousands of downloads combined across the various mirrors ^_^
Oh well that's good news. Just figured that since ut3 barely has any players (even with the free weekend going) I assumed that I would only be running around alone. Also I am aware of the fact that it has just gone live but for some reason I didn't think of that as a cause to the low amount of downloads.
Eitherway, I'm downloading this now.

Holy shit, this looks absolutely amazing to say the very least! And that's just judging by the media including the video! I'm downloading for sure! :)
Absolutely amazing guys! I love the new skins for everything and gameplay has been improved the only real compaint I have are lack of a control scheme manual or something and how difficult it is to use the lance on ships. You have to put you're crosshairs way above the target. Other than that I can't wait for the next release and if it expands as much as you did from RC3 to RC5, then we'll all have the greatest futuristic mod ever on our hands!

I can't configure my keys! I installed it setting it to where Steam is and the damned thing won't let me configure my keys properly. This is BS :( Also putting it in your name screws up my login. Something went wrong with the release in a big way for me.
I just tried putting it into a normal directory like where all the other mods go in my games/unreal tournament 3 but it still won't save my damned settings. What the hell is going on?!
I'm rating this game a 1 because I can't configure things properly. You need to fix this because as it stands its utter trash if I can't have a working configuration and do basic things required of a mod such as saving settings.
Edit: The uninstaller doesn't work either, this current release is a total and utter failure.
Waiting only 15 minutes for help before trashing a release is a wonderful way to resolve your issues. If you are having serious issues with the installer please post the specifics on our forums in the Medivac section.
Sorry, I was a bit groggy last night trying many times to get it to install, having crashes and not having my config saved and I was just driven to the edge since I was very excited from playing RC3 and having great fun with it. I had tried several times to get it to work, doing various uninstall and reinstalls, attempting to look into the config files to find them a mess. It was heart breaking for this release to have such problems just accepting my configuration so I can play it safely and enjoy it. I only got to try it once in game and it took forever to load a level and then when I tried to select a class and do anything it crapped out, hid the deploy button when I tried to modify the config, and crashed after wrestling with it to try to just deploy.
Come to our medevac forum at affuniverse and post your launch.log from /utgame/logs and we can probably sort this out :)

Having made no attempt to get to know you, and assuming all the problems in the world are your fault, I'm going to rate you a 1!
Seriously now I'd like to help if I can, but bear in mind that UT3's keybinds are tied up with gamespy and various people, myself included have problems getting all of them to stick for more than one session. So it's maybe our fault but also maybe gamespy's.
If you can't even get them to stick for even one session however that is an issue we can attempt to resolve together, since that is outside the usual behaviour and implies a broken or incorrectly installed game.
btw the installer only deletes registry entries. complete the removal by simply deleting the affplanetstorm folder.

Where to are the Lightnings if i press SHIFT during i fly a Space Ship ?
Changes the flight model so it drifts less and turns sharper, at the expense of shield recharging. Use it for hard turns :)
This mod is awesome, but I can only play singleplayer. I found NO servers online, not even empty ones. Is it just my internet..? I'd really like to play this with bots that are a bit smarter than to get in a vehicle then drive straight into a rock for the duration of the map. Lol.
