Pity it can't be a floating object that doesn't need to be piloted. BF3 has it figured out. You spawn in it (since it just flies in a set circular path), then gun down any enemies. You can exit it and parachute in. Furthermore, it can be destroyed, but will respawn eventually.

It can be made like that. I've seen one of DevilmanWhiteCats's video where he replaced the UAV with an AC130 which you can spawn in, shoot its guns, and parachute out. It flys in circles just like the vanilla BF2 UAV, and can be destroyed.

This is why BF2 will ever be better than future battlefields.

BF3's AC130 is as useless as ****, bring back his real utility in spec ops night missions!

Is yours going to fly in circles? I know clivewil didn't program it so. In the beta, this made it damn hard to shoot stuff.

It will depend on the pilot if he/she wanted to. The plane must be piloted with a play or a bot and there will be other slots for the gunners. There are some mods that has a AC-130 in the game and they're piloted by a player.

no, alpha project dont support self operating ****, we want to being able to controll all our vehicles ourself, if you want to fly in circles you need to have a pilot doing so

Hey JONES, what would be the armament of the AC-130? According to the picture, it has a 105mm gun, 40mm L/60 Bofors cannon and a minigun (M61 or the GAU-12/U?)? Will there be other armaments? Like just 1 105mm gun and 2 miniguns (M61 or GAU-12/U?)? One more thing, will it be hard to fly? I mean that you need to crank up your sensitivity levels to comfortably fly that plane?

two questions: one: will this be AI piloted or manually flyable? two: can you make a MQ-9 Reaper? make it like a jet but you pilot it from your base in a trailer or something that like. that'd be AMAZING!

It will be piloted by a player. I haven't seen any mods that has AI support for the AC-130. Anyways, manual is better as you can go to the places that you can give support.

cool. i just wasn't sure because the games that have this nowadays are AI piloted to prevent misuse. understandable, yet very unfortunate. and i'm guessing that's a no on the MQ-9 idea?

Probably it would be possible to fly a UAV, borrow the HUD from the chopper missile or from the Air to ground missiles from the Fighter-bombers and fly it as a plane. There's a possibility for it and it would be cooler as teamwork is needed to ensure success.

awesome. yeah, I've wanted it in games but no one has ever incorporated it. to me it seems like a unique idea. it wouldn't be different from a traditional jet except for arsenal and the fact that you don't die when you get shot down.
