Airborn is an Action Adventure based in a fantastic world on flying islands eons after the world has collapsed from overexploitation. You will start exploring this world through the eyes of Piño a boy who wants to become a messenger one day. UDK Demo hitting the Web in Spring 2010.
Ok the development goes on and this is the first enemy for the airfights, you didn't think kicking small critters is all that is going to happen, did you? :D
Me like!
looking great :)
reminds me of Maschinen Krieger Maschinenkrueger.com
which is not a bad thing hopefully :)
what we did is take old ww2 planes, take the parts we liked, changed, changed, changed till we had something that fit into our universe
looks a bit like a f4u corsair :P atleast the wings xD awesome mod btw ^^
No, not a bad thing. It's yet another reason to love your art direction. :) You seem to take inspiration from miyazaki and Maschinen Krieger which is just awesome in my books.
we didn't take any inspiration from maschinenkrieger :)
as said the design is based on actual planes, however we like maschinenkrieger, and I saved their images in our inspirationsfolder, so from now on it can be counted as inspiration to us ;)
dang, that is gonna be a beast to take down.
will you get to use other vehicles as the main character? or will you be stuck with just his special aircraft?
Piño has his own jetbike and therefore he doesn't need to use someone elses plane ;)
In the final version, will you be able to upgrade your bike?
If so, could you change optically or only change the values like "speed" and so on?
It would be so great if you could upgrade the bike...plus point for you getting long time motivation :D
but I think the design is enough.
Keep up the great work.
its really way to early to talk about anything "final" :)
for the next demo we will upgrade the jetbike to be able to shoot, but why not the idea isn't unusual and would make the flying cooler with playtime.
Well, I think there is no "Final" for any mod. :D
But nice to hear that you will pick up the idea.
WW2 Zero?!Oh, no ofcourse)
The camouflage and logo suggest it's roots are British.
its of course not british, it's also not german, its part of the fleet of the royal crown, there might be some similarities to the germans for the evil guys especially when it comes to talking, but its not our world ;)
Very cool!
AWESOMENESS
Reminds me of Team Fortress 2 but with a color direction of blue and yellow..
Its funny how toony gets always connected to tf2, while they are the first to do it cool for ages in games, they didn't invent toony graphics.
However i have to admit, that in the beginnings of airborn we learned a lot from TF2s shading techdocs.
Some very nice concept art, simple yet intriguing aircraft. I'll enjoy seeing it in action :)
Looks epic!!!
