Concentrating on the late medieval period, Age of Chivalry: Hegemony replaces or significantly alters each of the civilizations in the original game, while adding a number of new ones, allowing the player to control Central and Western European states. Many new units and technologies have been added and gameplay dynamics have been changed considerably in this complete overhaul of Age of Empires II.

Description

This image showcases a number of new building graphics for the Papal States, based on medieval Rome.

The Papal States get a church that is bigger than regular churches, and also has more hit points. A relic stored in a Papal church is therefore more secure than elsewhere! However, the church is also a little more expensive.

The opposite is true for the Roman castle (on the right) - it is imposing, but also relatively small, and has fewer hit points than regular castles (but is cheaper).

Also pictured (behind the church) is a building available in the scenario editor - the Belfry, with unique graphics for Rome based on the Torre delle Milizie.
