Achilles
Half-Life 2 mod | TBD
Achilles set during the conflict that changed the course of history.
Those who are avid historians will know that this mod is set in World War 2 (1939 - 1945), the mod is modelled around a small SAS unit who will experience first hand the horrors of war.
Firstly, it will be using the Source engine to mod this project, which is the reason I believe it will make a fantastic result. We are implementing total realism such as Friendly Fire, realistic hitboxes and accurate ballistics modelled on the real weapons.
The realism implemented in this mod will be immense, for example a shot in the leg will not kill someone, but will make them keel over. If the NPC drops their weapon they may try to surrender, if the player decides to "arrest" them there a more chances of gaining an end of mission medal.
From the heat of the deserts in Africa to the frozen wastes of the Ardennes experience World War 2 like you have never seen it before. This mod is also a tribute to the 62,000,000 military and civilian on both sides who died during the most destructive war humanity has ever known.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen,
I would like to announce you to this new modification, Achilles. Despite its name, the mod is not set during the famous and legendary Trojan Wars, but is based upon the events experienced by the unsung heroes of World War 2: the SAS. The name Achilles was chosen to reflect the seemingly invincible nature of the SAS, as Achilles was regarded as an invincible warrior.
Achilles will include a completely reprogrammed Artificial Intelligence system that will dynamically think and react to the environment, and also to the situation present. The mod, based on Half Life 2's Source Engine will also include accurate ballistics and weapon weights as well as realistic hitboxes and damage.
Currently, progress is coming along nicely with the mod, we have the Jeep fully modeled and skinned in both European and Desert Camouflage, the M4 Sherman is undergoing construction as is the first two maps. Our Beretta handgun is also modeled but not yet skinned. So we can expect a media release in the next few weeks or so.

good idea lads, and nice models, keep it up.
looks cool, one suggestion though. If you're going for realism it will need plenty of blood spray and limbs and what not. I am really getting tired of PG-13 rated WW2 games.
