The first demo of Acheron is here!
Unfortunately we didn't manage to hit the Christmas release like planned because I really wanted the demo to have xenomorphs in it and it took way longer than I though it could. The good news is that they're in the mod now. The bad news is that they look like preview images shows them and so far all my attempts to find out why failed. So...it is what it is, though I hope you'll be able to enjoy it anyway.
This great tutorial by Sgt_Prof should guide through the mod's installation.
We'll be happy to hear any feedback, good or bad! Just please keep in mind that we're a small team and even though the mod takes long to complete (and it's nowhere near complete), we're doing everything we can to progress with it.
We hope you'll find this version of Acheron entertaining and will have a great time trying it out! :)
A big thanks to Dnamro for letting us use his singleplayer versions of the vanilla maps as well as some extra ones, not all of which made it to this specific demo.
Note: The maps featuring aliens have a large X across their preview image. You can find the Weyland-Yutani forces on the others. At the moment they are a combination of the PAC soldiers and "tained" xenomorphs.
A few more notes
- The aliens' textures weren't exported properly and thus appear as pitch black.
- The M42A Scope Rifle available to the Recon class has no texture yet.
- All the vanilla weapons are to be replaced with new ones in the full version.
- The Drone class, although not having any item at the moment, shall get its own unique ability eventually.
