I would love to and I tried but BF2142 doesn't support the shaders that make infrared vision possible in BF2. :/

Yes, it's not about the shader, the server menu does not want to work normally. The inclusion of thermal radiation of rhenium does not show. I want to try to register thermal vision in the zoom optic client (in the new bf 2 mods for sniper rifles there is such a section.)

Haha, I sure hope so. I know that the last demo wasn't that different from the previous one but for me it's much better managable this way. I get quite stressed when keeping too much content unreleased for a longer period of time.

Curious what is the canon in this case?
I'm very familiar with the A:CM's depiction of the gun's HUD as I own the game. I just don't find it very creative or realistic. The whole point of the Smartgun is that it can self-steer towards the target and dumps most of the recoil. It's supposed to be simple and effective, not overwhelm the operator with tons of useless information.
As for the canonicity of the sources. I think both A:CM and the Technical Manual are considered canons, they just kind of contradict each other in this regard.

You'd better ask me. I also altered this mod for personal poshzovaniye. And I made Aliens invisible.

I'd rather stay a bit conservative in this regard, although I admit that it is a really cool idea and it would probably make the gameplay much more balanced.
I actually have other things in mind, like the eggs with facehuggers (available to the Drone class and the Queen), the Queen and perhaps also the Crusher alien as "vehicles" for the Aliens team. These should make the battles much more balanced and offer some challenges for the marines to overcome.
Terminatys is right. He seems to have done some changes similar to the one that you mentioned, so perhaps he could help you out.
I wanted to make eggs with face huggers on the principle of "Unl_Mine_Motion". When approaching, it opens and a facehugger jumps out of it, chases after you and after catching up - kills.
You will either have to keep a distance from the eggs, or destroy them.

The Alien's egg must be made as a stationary turret with autocontrollers with one larva in ammunition, the Alien's
face huggers hould be made as a disposable self-guided missile.
