Creatures came out of what seemed to be thin air. Animated and alive. They came without a warning and swept the world ...

Haven't played SoF to be honest. Anyway, yeah it's taken a long time. The news update will go into that.

I have been working a little bit on ep2 as I mentioned in an earlier News post, Dec and Dave are no longer officially on thew team so that leaves me as the only active developer.

But they're not completely out of the picture yet since they do help me when I absolutely cannot manage on my own.

O_o I didn't know that, uh, doing all of this alone. But I thought the team was bigger than 3 dev's?

The other team members are the VA's and Drew who along with Ian has helped me writing the story.

Dec has helped with some textures and models but has mostly been our only programmer.

Dave is the one responsible for pretty much all the custom weapons and a ton of custom prop models.

For the Rogue Train DLC I have been creating all the new models and textures on my own as well as working on all the maps.

We've had a few other people come and go who have helped a bit. but in the end, all the content was produced bu just us 3.

1187 is a gateway to develop games as a career. 1187 being a free mod is not really making us a profit.

Dec and Dave had to make the decision to move on when they got a chance to pursue that and thus they couldn't stay on the team, at least officially.

And since I am still learning more about a lot of different aspects I still am trying to reach a certain quality in my work before I feel I can venture out myself.

1187 Episode One was finished, so technically we weren't in a mid-development cycle. Even though Episode Two will complete the story arc.

So, yeah I hate to have you guys wait so long to have any progress made or something being released. But there will come a time soon that I myself will not have this much time to spend on the mod as well.

However, I will never abandon 1187. The mod is just too much fun and there's still a lot I want to do with it.

Whatever I will do next, 1187 related or not, I will keep everyone posted. Although my other projects will be quite different from all of this. (Yet another reason why I won't leave this mod alone)

At least Episode two will end the story, that's cool.
And you didn't cancel it either, to go on retail or go indie.

I understand pretty much that modding can be a first step into the gaming industry, so if 1187 has created opportunities for you to move on, so be it, you deserved it, even if 1187 has its flaws, overall it was really well done and it's cool it has been praised as such you've been engaged elsewhere.

I can't go Indie with 1187 even if I wanted to, simply because we're using Valve's own Half-Life 2 IP.

To be honest I am not doing any of this for the money. As we all know games have such a broad potential. So much can be done with the medium.

So many things are still possible with it, and playing games is just so much fun.

creating games cost a lot of time and effort, and to be able to offer games and experiences money is going to be an issue for any developer in the long run.

So therefore we are left with no other choice but to spend our time on something that will be able to feed us, pay bills at the end of the day.

I felt deeply sad when Eye of the Storm Episode 2 was cancelled.
If for some reason you've to cancel this mod, I don't care the reason, at least leave a message on how it was supposed to end, like Aspik did with Notes (surrender's cut), when I begin a story, I like to know how it ends...

But, again, good luck for finishing the mod. Even in 2013 or 2014. I'll be here :)

Well if it ever comes that far I will update everyone and perhaps I might take it upon me to write the ending in some sort of fan fictional kind of way.

For now don't worry I have no intentions to drop the mod at any rate. :)
