Looks like plasma weapons, not railguns. You do know that railguns are electromagnetic slug accelerators? They fire shells or solid tungsten slugs, not particle beams or plasma blasts.

Just saying. The effects are cool, no doubt about it, but they just don't seem to fit the weapon.

I don't know why everyone assumes the Borg would win so easily. Just use mass drivers. A fifty ton tungsten slug flying at 75% the speed of light is going to hurt, no matter who you are. Or use mass driver slugs with nukes in them. That would suck even more. For the Borg, that is. Or slugs with chemical/viral containers! Poison them!

And remember, the whole adaptation thing is based on shield and energy frequencies and that kinda thing. Pure kinetic force has no frequency to adapt to. It's just raw force and only really strong shields and thick armor can stop it.

No, ships with mass drivers that are crewed with soldiers carrying railguns would be the Borg's worst nightmare.

Today, we have the fifty megaton tsar bomba nuke. That baby generated a fireball that was 8km in diameter. And this is now. Imagine a nuke in the future. We'd likely be talking gigaton explosions by then.

The temperatures reached in the core of a nuclear explosion are a couple of million degrees hot, even in space. That's guaranteed to put a hole in pretty much any form of solid material if it hits point-blank.

Quote: Since 50 Mt is 2.1×1017 joules, the average power produced during the entire fission-fusion process, lasting around 39 nanoseconds, was about 5.4×1024 watts or 5.4 yottawatts (5.4 septillion watts). This is equivalent to approximately 1.4% of the power output of the Sun.

794 tactical nukes, even if they're only about a megaton each, is going to hurt. A lot.

And point-defense weapons will only help so much.

"52 turrets shooting 2 or 3 shots in a sec! it would be 9360 shots many more than 794 nukes!"

...That's assuming those turrets even hit. I doubt spaceborne missiles lack ECM and evasion thrusters.

Tried this thing out, and it fails, hard. Whoever said RA3 was easy to mod must have been smoking some Serious Stuff. 'Mod Tools' my butt.

That kind of attitude is exactly why some mods are full of misspellings, utterly lame names and ****** descriptions. The unit balance, models and such are important, but no amount of awesome graphics will make a retarded mod with text written at the level of a 3-year old any less retarded.

IF YOU COME UP WITH YOUR OWN NAMES, MAKING THEM *NOT* SUCK IS GENERALLY CONSIDERED TO BE A GOOD IDEA.

Personally, I've always wondered WHY Tesla Coils couldn't charge each other... Really, logically, it should be easier to do than successfully redirecting metal-boiling laser beams...

Completely agree. For a charging weapon, the lack of an actual charge fx effect is really disappointing... Nice to see that fixed.

Reminds me of the advanced Crazy Ivan explosion from RA2.

Now that's one awesome kaboom. That explosion is actually in-game?

OMG SO UGLY!

Chrono beams out of ordinary tank barrels? That is retarded, even for RA3. Seriously, chrono technology is supposed to look a wee bit more hi-tech than a freaking cannon barrel.

That looks awesome. Always thought the EA animation was a little... lacking. Not enough FX for a superweapon.

Actually, it cannot be nuclear. With Einstein erased from the timeline by the Soviets, nuclear technology ceased to exist (which is why Cherdenko and Krukov couldn't use their nuclear assets - they didn't have any!). There are no nukes and no nuclear reactors. Whatever it is they keep inside Super-Reactors, it ain't plutonium...

Liked the shield better... I keep getting the vibe "those units are EMP'ed". Still, EA's version with the drones was retarded. The shield alone, without the flying gizmos, would have been better.

This thing is very much superior in one way though, and that is that the shield is the appropriate size, instead of only covering a small part of the largest units, such as Shogun Battleship, Dreadnought, etc. That always bugged me.

You probably should revise the story. Casting the Hiigaran's as 'Bad Guys' isn't original in any way, shape or form. It's been done by a hundred bad modders before, and worse, it doesn't really make any sense.

Haven't you guys played the games?! They spent thousands of years in exile on a dead desert planet, had the majority of their civilization suffer genocide, got invaded by the Vaygr, had the Bentusi sacrifice the remnants of their *entire species* for them and so on. These people know what suffering and tyranny is like. It's hard to believe they'd become corrupted.

'Sides, Karan S'Jet would never allow it, and if HW2 is anything to go by, she achieved nearly god-like status at the end. Considering how old Lady S'jet seemed to be in HW2, it's unlikely that she has died.

Other than that, damn fine work!
