Really the only thing that ties us to CSS is we're on the same engine. This game is a load faster, deeper and bigger then CSS.
Holy **** Mos Eisley looks amazing.
Coding an NPC is very time consuming, so no there will be no single player portion of the game.
Visually... I WISH. Gameplay wise it's an entirely different beast.
For the time being, yes we have to use the CSS player models. We don't want to use them of course because we don't like them much either, but right now we don't have any other options. When there are more options however, we won't be using the CSS content.

Seeing this many comments on an update really makes me smile. I can assure all those waiting to play the game aren't waiting in vain. Every day that you aren't playing the game is more polish on a game that some of us have been working on for nearly 2 years.

I'd appreciate it if you would read further into what you are talking about. I admire the fact that you care so much about what happened to the HL1 mod team, but you have the source mods mixed up. FIreArms:Source is not the mod that was involved in the business you are talking about, that would be FireArms2. I hope you don't mind that we've deleted your posts on our ModDB wall.

depends on the version really, 2.6-2.9 the movement speed was really slow, but 2.5 was fast, super fast, about as fast as it is now. 3.0 was similar, but not quite as fast if i remember correctly.
those are CS models, Civilian Models reskinned, the Kreedz ice pick (if im not mistaken), maps that look like they came out of hl1, and i dont know, CS hands... not very impressive.
other then being incredibly dark, those look cool.

kooper, you dont see a single trace of hl2? are you kiddng me? that dome light was used hundreds of times in the sp.
God, all of the things in this game were from another game. From the textures in the map, to the weapons, this mod felt like little more then a dod map in the cs world. Now, i couldnt find any servers to play on, but i gave it a little test drive on one of the maps. The game was slow, and the night vision overlay REALLY hurt the map. Keep working though, make your own weapons, models, and do something a little more original.
man, im not enjoying this one. Two words: Golden Gun. It looks like a peice.
definatly get a new skinner asap, looks like a good idea to me. a new HUD should also spark some interest.

I doubt they've started work on HL3 really. their working on HL2:A, and DoD:S. I dont expect HL3 to pop its head out from under the ground till they finish everything up with City17.
