Thanks. It loads up the materials then the log says "Initializing Skins", then nothing. Loading all the OGL stuff succeeded. No skins folder in base, could a bad material (or something) be causing the crash?
Every time I try to run the latest binary it crashes to windows, no specific error. I've got Win 8.1, AMD 7850 with the 14.4 driver, 6gb RAM & a Phenom 9600. I tried setting up a shortcut to make a log file but either it's not recognizing the Q2 command "+set logfile 1" or it's not making it that far.
Anything specific this needs to run?

Looks like a write protection issue to me. IE Win 7/8 won't let you write to the program folder by default and the game wants to take the dll out of the pk4 & place it in to the folder.
I don't know since I normally model in Blender, but from what I've done with Q2Modeler, it sets each vertex at each frame, so you should model everything before you animate it/add frames.
Or it's on purpose. :) That stock sound effect is amazing. :) Was in Aliens you know. :D
In the light inspector panel enable the center option, then you should be able to move it. You might need to unselect the light & reselect it first.

I can also setup a wiki if people want but I found that format frustrating to find D3 mod info on. The downloadable help file was much more useful to me.
Tutorials, listings & the like would be awesome. There's so much on there it was more valuable as a references vs a forum at times.

Wow, bunch of negative commentary to a company who didn't shut down a service but is dealing with a 3rd party being shut down.
Just think of what will happen when Valve starts dropping support for games that use it's matchmaking service.
Gamespy had a great run. Sad it has to shut down (I don't even think the online server division is owned by IGN/Fox any more but sold off years ago).
To bad nobody commenting here had the $$ to buy the servers & keep them online, eh? Guess that makes you part of the problem then not part of the solution. :)
As far as I'm aware, the ads brought in almost nothing, the site was up for pretty much free.
If there is reason to not restore it, they would be the bickering on the site & now he has a family and didn't feel like keeping up moderated/running.
If there's interest I could setup a new forum on my host. Everyone would need to reregister but it seems mods D3W users don't want to use this site.

Something that looks more deliberate in it's attack. That might mean slower. With the weight of the saw it's more natural to move it up/down vs sideways.

Personally I never used modwiki. I found it inconstant in how information was presented, confusing to navigate & hard to sort through. I used the d3 reference help file & d3w's search instead (I found google's search on the site near useless)
I've made dozens of custom models and no dll changes. I have 146 custom player models in my Q2 install that don't need a dll.

Update looks pretty cool. It's great to have a coop game that requires the players to work together vs just blasting things. I'm having a lot of fun playing this at home!

I had an issue where if I enabled some of sikkmod's features the screen would mess up, so I made sure everything was turned off by default. Since it sounds like the main menu loads try turning off everything for sikkmod then loading the map, then turning on one by one.

download the eurobuild.
put the sikkmod in your doom3 folder.
put the eurobuild.pk4 in the sikkmod folder.
Do NOT use the other pk4's from the eurobuild mod. They aren't compatible with the last version of D3.

If mods have duplicate assets or both have code changes (include a .dll/so/whatever os x uses) then they will have issues together. If they're just asset mods (like a new monster & a new weapon) you should be able to put them together w/o issues.

Nothing's wrong with publishers. Epic, Valve, Crytek all use publishers and nobody here refuses to use their free mod SDK's or engines.

This is one sweet shooter. It's a lot harder then it looks & gets pretty intense at times.
I haven't gotten to try SP yet, I'm still finishing up Episode 2.
As usual, impressive! It's amazing how you keep advancing the engine you started with Q2 years ago. It's one of the most impressive engines based off it I've seen & yet nobody else uses it!
Especially for a SP game! (IE like a new SP version of Code Red. :D :D )

worldcraft used to be a free quake-based game map editor. Then valve bought it & make if valve specific.
It was ~as nice (better in some respects, not in others) then gtk.

not many force you to be cooperative. every FPS I've ever seen lets you go off on your own with no repercussions except things can get a little harder.
this forces you to work with at least one other person. if not you're dead.

a "warning" to some:
the PC one has REALLY high requirements. Basicly, if you don't XP & an ATI x800 or Nvidia 6600 or better, odds are the game won't run (or won't run great, but it requires XP).
to bad there's no direct competitor to Moddb.com. It would be great to see a banner add for moddb.com on there. :)
cool mod but there's a few bugs that make it not as fun as it could be: when you try to cycle weapons with only the blaster the game feazes & if you switch to a different weapon once oyu get one) you can't get back to the blaster.
besides those, this blaster mod is pretty darn cool. :) Love shooting a charge in to a squad of strogg! :)
