Switz[3rdMAR] - - 123 comments @ A Medieval Mod: 1191

Update: On turn 900 now and still just a pleasure to play. Granted I could easily break role playing and paint almost the entire map if I wanted to, but its still giving me lots of enjoyment. Overall a super stable mod. Anyone reading this, dont forget to apply the 4G Patch to all Medieval 2 launchers AND the launcher for this mod in whatever era mod you chose to install in. I think I've only had 3 crashes and those came after HOURS in game and starting a battle so that is hardware side, not mod.

The fight for the holy land was epic. It takes such a long time to build up holy land territories you conquer. You are forced to send fresh supplies of starving troops to help defend against multiple Jihads before you are able to finally stand against them with the infrastructure you have built there. Just a fantastic experience!

Thank you for creating this great mod! I've been looking for a slow burner campaign that does not translate to AI not playing by the same slow burn rules. A full stack vs full stack victory or loss takes almost two years to recover from (AI or player). I'm heading into Turn 200 and the pacing so far with growth, diplomacy and AI has all been superb.

One of my favorite elements of your mod is:
- The importance of educating your generals in order to be effective commanders or Dukes.
- Staying in recently conqoured Crusade settlements is a huge descion. You won't be able to focus on your home lands and still afford to defend your recent Crusade holdings - Resulting in numerous back and forth Crusades and Jihads over the Holy Lands.

Hey everyone,

Given Sandy has been awol for over a year now with no log ins of any kind anywhere (assuming the worst, hope I am wrong) - Throwing out the idea if anyone else reading this has any experience with modding M2TW. While I have never modded any TW game before, I am a game developer and have some experience with java and coding. And am very experienced in graphic design and could easily match and replicate Sandy's style in DoC.

Anyway, if any of you have experience and the drive to see DoC expanded to Italy please let me know. I think we can all agree if you have played DoC that it is a extremely special mod. By far the most under the radar mod for M2TW. What Sandy did was amazing.

I'm finishing up my latest game currently and plan to be free for this project in July.

****PLEASE MESSAGE ME HERE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TEAMING UP WITH ME ON DAWN OF CONQUEST TO GIVE THIS MOD THE EXPANSION IT DESERVES****

Beautiful artwork and forgive my language, making RPG Maker your bitch. Rare you find now a 5th sequal in this genre where more energy is put into newer titles as it progresses. Keep up the great work!

Astonishing news Ashton and a very warm and hearty THANK YOU. There is really not much more any of us can say to you for sticking with developing (2.0) so long when I don't think ANY of us would have remained on for that long. You deserve all of our thanks brother. And to your new and old dev team members, thank you for helping Ashton see this dream of so many of us come true!

Just a update we forgot to add here in case others see this:

We got in contact with the developers of the Diaspora games (sounds very interesting, see link below) and where given the greenlight to continue using Diaspora as our games title. We added the "RPG" post script on our own though out of respect and to hopefully alleviate confusion. It is a older game (Diaspora) and that is our target audience too (old classic RPG 90's lovers) so I am sure you won't be the last to catch that.

Hi Balt, welcome to IndieDB and Diaspora!
I'm assuming you are trying to find out how to "follow" the games progress (it is not out yet). You can do that by clicking the "Follow" button. It is pretty hard to see, but if you look at the top right of the page and where it says "Profile" with the games developer information under it, if you hover over "Profile" you'll see some pop up buttons.

When you are following, you receive emails whenever we update the game such as posting a new image or news article. We are planning to release another news article within the month btw.

Hope you enjoy!

Thank you! My co-developer is a HUGE Final Fantasy 6 fan. This is our best attempt at making a Phantom Woods type area / play type. You can tell this was a first for us because we did not get our proportions right before ordering the artwork.

Hi San, thanks for taking the time to visit and inform us. The only thing we could find was an old space strategy game so we decided to go with the name, but we are also so early in development that a name change won't hurt us. I'm quite surprised the name is that popular actually. Could you possibly message me to the other games? This will help us see if we will have any issues based on legality and confusion if another is also a RPG. And also to reach out to them to make them aware and see if they are okay with it.

Hurray for rifle accuracy nerfing! Inaccuracy is what made WW1 Source so much fun, else there was no way 20% of attacking forces would ever make it in or very near the enemy trench positions. Further increased the deadliness of officers and MG'rs.

I like this update a lot. I'll admit, was a little skeptical just how much this would be a new "WW1 Source" game in the last update. It looks like you are finding that blend between DOI and WW1 Source well now.

If some of you reading this never got to play the original "WW1 Source" Alpha to 1.13B versions from 2010-2015 when we where still playing it...all I can say is that this game is a lot of fun. Sure, it won't take home records or rewards, but the community is INCREDIBLY friendly, everyone knows everyone, and it has so much down to Earth charm to it that it is unreal.

They never let this game die. After so many setbacks, so many tough moments and low popularity as a backwoods sourcemod...that right there shows you the heart that this game has when ANYONE else would had just left.

Although I cannot say for sure if the 3rd Marines will come back or not for round....what are we on now....5? But you can garuntee you will see many of the old WW1 Source players that I brag about as being the single BEST community I have ever had the complete pleasure of playing with and becoming life long friends with. Don't mess it up new faces lol!

I would love to see a rail gun map. No idea why, but a gigantic rail gun to accurate scale would be a site to see. Not necessarily to be able to fire at the other side as that would be odd due to distance, but just for eye candy.

If this mod can become a Darthmod/MFR Hybrind that would be great. Keep everything on how MFR is (movement, tough economy (also for AI), trade limitations and campaign AI -> but mix that in with Darthmod BAI and unit stats.....OH MY! Throw in Varient Disease Mod and the rest of additional unit packs and you have the single best Empire TW (hell even Total War) experiences ever!

MFR is the best mod out there, it's only downfall is BAI and the fact it could use a bit more and also some more side missions.

Extremely good mod here. Perhaps the best if you want the most evenly challenged campaign experiences around. And the music is incredible!

Switz[3rdMAR] - - 123 comments @ Empire in Ruins: A soundtrack mod

I confirmed it to work with Darthmod and Darthmod CB. All you need to do is upload EiR_Music.pack to ".../steamapps/common/Empire Total War/data" and then open the Darthmod launcher and select Edit - User Script. In the pop up window and add in "EiR_Music" (without quotes) and update script. Start game and you are good to go.

Good music tracks. Highly enjoyed!

Very happy to see Semmel back on board. That man knows how to seriously map! You guys are taking this way past what 2.0 was ever going to become. And with a new sound designer and DOI modder, I predict a much smoother transition.

Wishing you guys all the luck we have from the 3rd Marines. Oorah!

No active servers in the game currently. Every clan/group that was in it has left already. Currently - no in game activity. However. We (my clan) are bringing back our server in it. However, there will not be ANY players. So how we do it is we use our Steam Community to plan days called "Pledge Days" in which we all go into WW1 Source and play.

We only host these "Pledge Days" like once a month or even less. Once we get our server back up in WW1 Source we will start scheduling the next one. JOIN this Steam Group to stay on top of them: Steamcommunity.com

"is this going to be better than verdun even anymore?" - You can count on a more faster gameplay and smoother walking/running and fps stability. Will it look better than Verdun? No, they will always win that catagory - they have some serious talent. But their controls are so clunky. WW1 Source...ahem Screaming Steel feels more like a HL2 Source engine game in how it moves which IMO is the best feel you can get in a game.

Just hope they keep a lot of what made WW1 Source great for so many of us. No strafing, not 100% accurate weapons, instant prone...and the damn realism script lol.

We still have our server in it (3rd Marines). It may be need a reset on our part to appear again. We have since left WW1 Source, but still return ONE DAY every MONTH to play. As so happens, our next play event in it is tomorrow (6/19) at 1300 EST. Join our Steam Group if you don't want to miss - Steamcommunity.com

You need to install SDK 2007 though. Go into Steam like you are looking at someones profile, then at the top of the screen click (Games) and click (Library). In your library selection on the left (where it lists all the games you own), just above that is the SEARCH option, beside that is GAMES. Click GAMES and then select TOOLS. Scroll down until you find SOURCE SDK BASE 2007 and install it. Then install WW1 Source and you'll be good to go. ALSO NOTE, no one plays anymore, however, we (3rd MARINES) will one day every month and our next day we are playing is on MAY 14th at 1500 EST (EST = same time zone NY City is in)

We are still sticking with WW1 Source. Albeit like Ashton said, in limited form compared to the norm. Our server is still open for anyone new stumbling onto this mod for the first time or for old time sake. However, for those reading, please be sure to join our Steam Group (located here: Steamcommunity.com)and read the description before you come play since we have drastically reduced when we will be playing. I know it feels like forever waiting on 2.0, I doubt anybody in this community is more aware of this than Ashton. The sheer determination, willpower and desire to see this mod through that he has given for the past many years with a fledgling pool of HL2 modders left is simply amazing. HL2 moddb pages are very important. Most of us read the comments before we play the game for the first time. I know everyone in this community cannot wait for 2.0 and have literally been the most faithful fans I have ever seen in any game and of any HL2 mod out there deserves to see "our" mod get this INCREDIBLE makeover, so try to word whatever you wish to say in a way that will not deter any would be new community member who see's the VAST potential and benefit of following this mod instead of dismissing it as dead. By doing that, you add more fresh meat/target practice once we all do return.
