Since it has fighter storage possibilities long range weapons would be the best bet since the fighters would take care of close range combat. Still smaller range, fast firing weapons should be near the entrance/exit of the storage to protect fighters while exiting/returning. This from a realistic futurist war point of view, i think.
I think there are HK_Guns that are fixed line of fire, which the model in game already has two of and one GK_turret in the centre of the prow.
Remembering this is just a carrier and needs support ship in the form of smaller frigates and possibly larger destroyer designs of the stone Lance.
Carriers aren't the mega carriers, more like a 5 or 6 ship carrier.
So I do not think I will use HK_Turrets on it. :)
Maybe one more forward HK_Gun.
a keel GK_turret
two sail GK_turrets
Star Wolves 2 Civil War(RU)/Star Wolves 3 Civil war(EN) is actually a good game and just needs polish and modding to give it the extra Umph... :P
Ive been going through OOP/OOD/OOL to give it more playability and more theming away from its sad storyline.
Looking into giving it pirate interactivity at the moment, with drop in pirates, giving you information about where to find more drop in pirates that will escort you around in a system after a bribe and earn you lots of cash shooting the companies and militarist. So you can scavenge the bits that fall off of their ships, when they go boom.
Turns out that the Pirates are much more bang for your buck compared with the Mercenaries in game
Happy New Year for you too. You did miss my present distribution this Christma's Eve: Moddb.com
Don't worry i saved some for you :P
Guardsmen seemed happy enough with theirs.
To be honest man i don't play space battle games frequently as they tend to be somewhat personalizable in turn based ones but more research based on real time types (there are middle terms with mixes of both but nothing really that attractive to me). I do like battles of any kind but usually my ideas for weapons loadouts in ships would be considerably excessive for most people. If it was a ship fully done by me in a game it would be something like a small carrier/frigate with so much firepower that it destroyed everything at one shot of every single weapon attached to the hull. It would then be low on batteries but with no one else alive that wouldn't be a problem don't you agree? :P
Basically my usual choice of weapons is fast firing lasers for close combat, especially to defend against fighters, spread across the hull of the frigate or other weapon based ship, with a heavy cannon/missile launcher for longer ranges and with low rates of fire. Sometimes i also use several medium range and medium fire power to replace a single powerful long range weapon as with fast ships long range weapons usually get 1 or 2 shots before the enemy is close even though sometimes a bunch of ships firing heavier weapons is enough to take a few enemies down and/or reduce the number of available weapons or damaging the engines thus reducing speed.
Although Sword of the Stars wasn't the best of games i had some fun seeing ships break apart or simply engines getting lost with the ship getting pretty vulnerable.
What I am looking for is the obvious stone arrow, with Modules attached for the purpose of fighter storage. :)
Weapons are another unknown matter to me as of yet.

Thanks for the ideas man.
