Unfortunately i think "recently" many followed the "easy" path of using things from DoW2 instead of making it themselves. I think it is good that you continue to avoid using the dow2 assets.
I'm a little late, but I don't see any problem with it. Bloodletters figurines have changed, so to me it's closer to the board-game to have those. The DoW2 model is great, so why wouldn't you do this ? Take the DoW2 model and lower resolution or something. :)
Even the Doomed one is from is a base DOW2 model with the texture edited to be a smaller part of the texture from the Bloodletter.
