Yeah, I like playing games. Already started with the first C&C when I was just 5 years old together with my big brother, being 10 years older than I am :D good ol' times. In the moddb community I am mostly doing logos and pictures for fun and for the Tiberium-Essence-Fans-group (TEF) and furthermore working on several maps. The only problem I have that I always run out of creativity and desire to finish the map in the middle of the process. Gotta work on that ^^ What I do for a living: I am studying medicine

This game is just wonderful, a true Diamond, more like one of the few, most pure diamonds in a gigantic pile of dirt that is todays gaming market.
Black Mesa is a great remake of Half-Life 1 and it delivers a wonderful experience, full of atmosphere, thrill and tension.
Although the graphics aren't the most important thing about Black Mesa, they are magnificent: All textures have an extreme resolution and BM features all standard effects of today's graphics. What I really like about BM's graphics is the perfect usage of Bloom. It is used when there really is a strong light source and it furthermore adds to the atmosphere. And the Bloom isn't so omnipresent and extreme that you go blind (which is the case in some other big "AAA"[*vomit*]-titles).
The sound is also very great, including an exclusive Black Mesa Soundtrack,new synchronisations and also great weapons sounds, whereby it should be mentioned that the tau- and gluon-gun have a magnificent sound. The soundtrack adds a lot of atmosphere in special situations and more thrill and excitement in important fight moments.
The gameplay itself is what you expect a Half-Life 1 remake to be: varied and thrilling, with small explorations and puzzles and an extremely immersive story. All together some of the best gameplay you'll ever find.
Some people are maybe bothered about the several seconds of loading time between certain areas, but seriously, we waited 8 years for this fan-made masterpiece of game and we have not been disappointed, we've been overwhelmed. I guess we can cope with a few seconds of waiting ;)
For my part, Black Mesa was the absolutely best gaming-experience I've ever had besides Half-Life 2.
Overall Black Mesa is great and if it had a Metacritic score, it would have it's place on the top, alongside with its brothers Half-Life 1 and 2. It was worth the wait (no Gaben pun intended^^) and I am looking forward to XEN.
In my opinion even better than W@W or BO zombie mode because of many different zombies, nice gameplay and the unique classes. It makes a LOT of fun :)

simply because its something totally new and entertaining!
Best portal I've played since, because it's A LOT ABOUT THINKING, not that stupid jumping like in mods like BP UP, you really have to think, to make yourself ideas, to know your environnement, so that you can solve the puzzle.
The standard mods for portal are usually like this: get to a room, think a minute, then jump and frustrate half an hour because executing the solution is so damn sucky and frustrates a lot,
BUT THIS MOD DIFFERS!!!
like I said, its about thinking, thats what real portal fans want to have!
