Ok so it's nothing much to do with Mowbray's Revenge, but I figure anyone who's into Marshmallow Duel wouldn't want to miss this new sequel...
Marshmallow Duel DS!

Marshmallow Duel DS!
I played around with 0.0.1 a while ago and it got me excited but this release is definitely a huge step. You've made a diehard Descent fan very, very happy.
Please do continue (with extreme prejudice!), I would hate nothing more than seeing something as promising as this get left in the dust. If things ever do fall on hard times, I'd be more than happy to put aside my inherent hatred of the Doom 3 engine's SDK to lend you a hand with whatever it is you need :D
ohh yes! go go go!
..bastards. 'public beta' means you can download it ):
fantastic effort! I'm most definitely contemplating reinstalling it and having another run through coop.
Quick question though, is it compatible with Rebirth? (it's a high-poly models pack, actually the only other mod under the SS2 section here).. I was really hoping so since they have been focusing more on character models and you guys seem to be going for the environmental stuff!
I have to say the mod is pretty cool in of itself!
but the website.. the website has to be one of the worst things ive ever seen on the internet. Sorry. Burn it.
thanks OmniKill for letting people know we're still going at it.
The reason for this not being updated is that we figure it's just easier to update when the mod gets released so that people dont get spammed with 'screenshot added!' type stuff that they probably dont care too much about. Or maybe we're lazy. Anyway, all that stuff is only a click away.
I'm just uploading our trailer now (so hence the activity i guess), be sure to check it out! You'll need XVid also.
The mod should be released on the 13th (4 days from now), but there might be a few days of haziness if we need to wait for our external mapping talent to get finished up. A few days extra should be an alright trade-off for 1 or 2 high quality maps (;
Hey guys thanks for your comments!
The site was down around time of the launch which really sucked in terms of people downloading it. Apparently we were using too much bandwith and so we got locked down for a while. It's back online now though and you can download from a bunch of mirrors listed on the files page.
inu_burner_X: read the readme. If the game crashed, its probably because you didnt copy any maps from HL2DM and tried to just host a game. If HL2 cant find any maps, it just crashes.
Hopefully thats your problem anyway.
CrazyEyes: Every game needs to have instagib!
San-J: Thanks for your suggestions! We would probably never take out dodging because its just too fun. Im aware the mod is very laggy, this release was more about just making something that works rather than making something that works well, if you know what i mean. Netcode's a pain in the ***. We arent sure yet if we will ever make another version, mainly because HL2 is just the worst SDK to work with that ive ever seen. We're happy to let anyone with the skills to have our code and make improvements and additions, but we'd probably never do it ourself - there's other mods we need to work on.
cheers
We've finally got around to doing some work on this. Rather than reiterate, ill just repost what I wrote earlier:
I've been playing with the code for the last couple of days, and have implemented all the movement physics and controls I was hoping to, which is just great.
Instagib:Source will feature all those aerobatic manouvers as seen in the Unreal franchise, namely dodging, double jumping, dodge jumping, wall dodging, double jump wall dodging etc. It will also have sprinting like in HL2, so you get quite a potent arsenal of ways to madly fling yourself around the map. The max number of midair jumps is configurable by the server of course, so you can play quadjump instagib or ridiculous instagib if you really want to.
The shock rifle also works fine, but it looks a bit dodgy at the moment. Basically all that's left to do is tart everything up a notch and add all the pretty FX that will make it cool.
There's also a new shot of the instagib rifle ingame, here: Pospi.spadgos.com
Hi everyone!
It's good to be here, and actually be announcing a mod for once. This probably means I'll have more motivation to finish it, hooray!
Anyway just wanted to post the first WIP pic of the instagib rifle to see what people think of it.
See you all around!
