yep, for me this "feature" of NPCs is a big fail too. Just saw how a bandit sniped Bes (standing in his default position) with a Makarov (!!!) from the other side of the car park. Unbelievable. Deleted...
honestly, the value of your GTA comment is very close to nil. I didn't say I wanted full CNN news on the HUD. But if the health indicator is supposed to be in the inventory, it should be there. It's not. So the next place to look for it would be the HUD and I made a simple statement that the HUD was empty.
I guess at the current stage of 1.1 & patch #1, the mod is still for people who like to be head-shot with a Makarov from 100m distance.. too many bugs.
well.. on static lighting I don't see any hp or ammo or armor bars anywhere. HUD is empty and the bars don't show up in inventory.

Early NPC detection fixed, issues including the first Bandit Raid mission at the car park no longer results in engaging from a distance before you continue the mission.
early NPC detection is not fixed. Even in the very first mission, Petruha attacks the bandits before I get to him to ask about the mission.

Understood (oh I wish my russian was so good as it was 15 years ago..) But of course, no big research is required here :) maybe some testing and adjustment of the time the NPC is aiming before firing that deadly shot, or to lower their accuracy, in order to (sort of) make the player's reaction equal. Another (and different) possibility is adjusting the actor.ltx file, parameter disp_base in order to improve shots without aiming. This would at least allow the player to be competitive with shooting on sight as can be seen in case of NPCs - they don't have any issues with this apparently. Otherwise - very nice job with the current NLC, I'm looking forward to trying the version 6 as it becomes available.
one suggestion for NLC6 guys.. do something with the NPC's accuracy. In 5.08 it's just crazy, a bandit can snipe you with the PM from 30m distance and of course the first and only hit is headshot. Looking from the other side, the player can't hit anything with 10 shots. It's just ridiculous. Please...
I hope in 1.1 the icon of an mp5 equipped with a silencer will be fixed.. it looks awful right now :) Goo.gl
