If the units are invisible, run the game in compatibility mode for windows xp.
Currently some user can't open the game, so there is a registry fix which might help as well.
Using regedit, HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->The Protectors->Options Change the ResolutionSelected value to 01 00 00 00 and windowed value to 00
Thank you for your kind words.
We will be launching chapters for each race (not including the Dragonlords) with each major version. They are all planned to conclude with the initiation of The Protectors Campaign (some of the characters from the chapters are present in the main campaign already, with their stats taken from the level ups invested by the player in the actual chapters). I can say the next chapter will be presenting the Daemon race.
As for other chapters regarding the beautiful Etherian lore, anyone can create custom chapters (C. Chapters) and we will gladly help in publishing them and/or providing required information. We already have The Duernothian Cult released, describing the events that lead to the formation of the Dark Dwarves, and we have a few others prepared for release.
As for hints about gameplay, I'll let the fans state their opinions and experience. On our discord channel people are also publishing articles on this subject, so it might be worth checking that out: Discord.gg
The loading screen image was taken from a 0.8.8 casual match. Expect a hotfix soon, as a patch, not a full version.
Not unless someone with know-how volunteers to keep it up to date.
Hello, this sounds like a hero data corruption. Please send us the files for inspection.
Hello, there is an outdated version of TPC translated, feel free to contribute: The-protectors.forumstopic.com
Hello, please refer to this guide and let us know if the game works after following the steps: The-protectors.forumstopic.com
For the invisibility bug you must run the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP.
Make sure you have all the cab files in one folder, along with the executable. Ignore the warning as before and it should all work.
In the control panel, bottom of the screen, there are two tiny skulls, one orange and one blue. The first is the main menu where you can do all the requested things. The second is the diplomacy menu, which is mostly used in multiplayer (and disabled on some maps).
On purpose. Mana researches were encouraging specific race-class combos and therefore diminishing variety.
Confirmed, thank you for the report.
Oozes (giant slimes) split in 2 Slimes upon death. However, 2 Slimes can be morphed again into one Ooze. So provided you have the resources, you can keep splitting and morphing the green thing over and over again. The AI will of course have those resources and do this procedure very quickly and most often.
No, but thanks for the suggestion.
Fixed in 0.8.8.
Nothing like a therapeutic mud bath to soften your skin before battle!
We got permission from the producers. It's still their property but we can distribute it freely.
The Protectors Campaign will only fully be available in version 1.0.
Custom Campaigns are fan-made. Anyone can share his/her custom campaign with the community.
Chapters and Custom Chapters use prebuilt heroes. You can develop them within the chapter, but not use them outside of it.
Skirmish Scenarios are used for AI and Multiplayer battles. You can use your own heroes for these.
There are many multiplayer matches held at: Discord.gg
See The-protectors.forumstopic.com point 5 in particular will help you.
No, but we do accept donations via paypal: The-protectors.webs.com
You need to do additional missions, one further to the North-East of Zhur and one near Kalpaxotl. I believe the quest is called Fire of Archenon.
The AI will use builders (zombies included) to attack in desperate situations (i.e. when their base is under siege), in version 0.8.8. It is quite laughable when a Thrall critical hits your attacking forces. "I... I hit him! I hit him!"
We hope to release 0.8.8 this season!
Both of those thing are actually bugs that have already been fixed in 0.8.8 (coming this season!).
Thank you for your kind words.
We intend on releasing 0.8.8 this season! Here is the current dev changelog, constantly updated: Docs.google.com
we do intend to do something AGAINST item farming.
We will be trying to fix windowed mode in the next version. In 0.8.7 it still works well in the editor, it's just the battles that cause crashes. Running the game full-screen is the safest option.
Make sure you don't run the game in windowed mode. That's really unstable.
When in game, go to options -> resolution and select your preferred resolution. Click apply. The menu will look small, but the battlescape will be as big as it should be.
In the upcoming version, the menus will also be adjusted and resized accordingly.
