You probably need to have both .cab files in the same place as the installer. Part 2 is the second .cab file.

Also you should download the hotfix 0.8.4a as it fixes a critical burn bug. Next version comes this season and it will have many many many old bug fixes, so you might want to wait for that? It will also have a new chapter unlocked so keep checking for updates from time to time. The Protectors mod is in active development.

Hello,
There is a document in the Manual folder which explains the new system, but here is a crash course:
The display is x/y where x is the storage and y is production. Sometimes you see x//y - a representation of negative y (I know it sucks, but we're working on a better UI).
Buildings each give a boost to food production (+2,+3), filling your storage. Units eat that food (-1,-2, even -4 for dragons and big units), consuming the storage. When the storage hits 0 or below, you enter starvation. You can increase storage size by building a higher level keep (maximum is 999 at level 5 currently). There is no hard cap (this system is called a soft cap) and time is more important than in vanilla, i.e. timing your attack with the enemy's starvation period or minimizing your starvation period or taking risks in having a huge army etc. etc.

I hope this answers your questions regarding population cap.

When playing multiplayer, always exit the game before a match connection (even a failed one). This is a bug that we are trying to fix for quite some time now.

There are only Wights or Wraiths. There is no such thing as Wraights. It is true that some units have been left out, though: wraiths and shadows are only available for the dark dwarf.

About the campaign, there is an option to release the fifth horseman: it is a several-missions quest that the player needs to accomplish throughout Etheria, the beginning of it being in The Wastes (as you can see in the demo).

I'm afraid not. The original campaign isn't really supported by TPC, not yet anyway. The unsupported hero races are: undead, minotaur, orc, fey, daemon, ssrathi, swarm. The rest should work fine.

Ah yes. He had this great idea of thinking the building's structure with chains pulled by gravity. The result would be an upside down version of the final building, an organic cave-like form. 100 years later, some people still have problems conceiving such architecture.

Probably not. Supported resolutions are 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200, 1680x1050 and 1920x1080.

Menus are ALWAYS 800x600, so the change of options is only triggered when entering battle.

The campaign is mostly there to provide an item stash (by popular demand) for your hero, which is why the intro parts are small. Still you can obtain quite a lot of different acts by replaying over and over and making other choice combinations.

BTW, if you play with heroes whose race can have babies (knights, dwarves, barbarians, elves, empire, plaguelord) you get the Dragon's Maze start. There you can reach the endscreen in 9 different ways - as opposed to The Wastes beginning (undead, minotaur, orc, fey, daemon, ssrathi, swarm) where there are only 3 (but more choices on how to win battles).
