Are you sure you installed it corectly? First install 0.8 FULL, then apply 0.8.1 and lastly 0.8.2. If there are any missing dlls still, they should easily be found on the internet.
Needless to say, I was Gold and really just trying to survive (hence the fortress - the dwarven way of winning through defense!)
I am glad to tell you that the rectangle bug you reported earlier is fixed in 0.8.2 as well as the rally point.
Done in version 0.8.2
Menu resolution is 600x400 while game resolution is setup by user. I have not tried it, but the menus seem to have some fixed features engine-set. I might be able to tweak that though, but why should I? Is there a problem with the current menu resolution?
Worry not, that crash has been with the protectors since the beginning. It doesn't do any harm, its just some bad code within the promo image. Hopefully we will fix it before reaching version 1.0.
The chemistry puzzle is original - you HAVE to insert it, no, make the whole mod around it! In general, I like hard puzzles with meaning (educational) or relation to story (the Myst series is one of my favorites) except the ones where you have to choose an item which resembles an image (drawing, shape, etc.) found within the level (usually at a different scale, size) and that's because either the level design is poor, uninteresting and boring to investigate it in detail or the shape is too hidden, unimportant. Care is needed when you build these kind of puzzles that require visual memory, in my opinion.
I will post an article about this new thing soon. In short, the hosting player can choose how much a slug fest or a raze fest match lasts (original game strictly set these game types to 30 minutes).
IMO, the trunk size is disproportionate with the crown size.
Seems fair enough. These missions would be an escape goat in case you run out of money or just want more experience. I'll see what I can do.
The GOG version of the game is bugged and crashes a lot. TPC, on the other hand, has a more stable version for free - it is like a new game, with separate installation directory. It will not affect your original game (nor fix it for that matter).
Some characters are from it, but the story is ENTIRELY different.

There is actually a big risk of being overrun if you don't know what you're doing. See for yourself in chapter 3 (v0.8.1 - soon to come).
You need to install it in another location (example D:\The Protectors). It is the full game, modified. You can have both WBC3 and The Protectors installed at the same time without any conflict.

Since this project is working on a volunteer basis (whoever wants to help does so whenever and how much he/she wants), it is too hard to determine anything. We do not have a schedule, but generally, the more people help us, the faster we get new versions out.
I just found the problem (and the solution) to this bug and it has now been fixed. Version 0.8 will have no such spell issues.
