Not in 0.8.6.
Both of you have good points, but balance-wise, the berserker should stay to the good Dwarves in my opinion.
Hiring: TPC changelog admin
0.8.6 brings several new researches firstly in an attempt to balance the existent gameplay further (in this case, the weak dd crossbowmen were easily replaced by ranged siege weapons and wraiths), secondly to make each unit/race unique in style (doing extra damage was a little bit lame for the dd crossbowman, so ignore armor shows better for a mithril bolt).
No new models as of yet. There are hard to make them fit in current graphics style and this is not our priority right now.
Little does he know... hehe
I'm more than happy to share the source code with any other NDA signer, and all the other resources are already being distributed for free, so yes, modmods are certainly a possibility.
The folder in my documents is autogenerated and stores all custom data. That is the one I suggest you delete, not the whole game.
Are you sure you are looking in the right place? Try installing in the default directory. If you reach the installation complete message then the files were copied to your machine (installation takes a few minutes).
Sounds like you didn't do a clean install. Try deleting the mydocuments/the protectors folder and see if it helps.
What's the error?
try the .msi then. also someone said they must be extracted on your primary drive (c:\)
You only need to download this pack (it is a FULL version). Extract it with winrar or any other similar application, then run the installer (.exe). Follow the on-screen steps, then you're done!
The description at least hints towards the negative effects it might have, and afterwards you can experiment by equipping-unequiping, if you really want to know what the curse is. That's how I do it anyway.
Also, I believe these items are quite rare and therefore valuable. You can sell them off at a really nice price.
Worst case scenario, you probably had a previous version of TPC installed, instead of applying a fresh install (as suggested in the article). Anyway, you can fix this by deleting your mydocuments/the protectors folder.
It's just a random picture. No new features are present in this image.
You should check the gog forums, the community has gathered some precious info on this subject: Gog.com
Anyone can make new PFX by creating xmls following the templates provided.
For now, you only encounter the huge dragon in the chapters (and fan made maps of course).
Not a bad idea. The converting and spellcasting animations could be the same with his attack animation (staff rising into the air).
I've got my hands full at the moment, but I'll get to it asap and will respond via mail when I do so.
Already did :)
Fixed in 0.8.6. Thank you for the report.
Version 0.8.6 will be launched this winter, so perhaps it is best to wait a little longer before jumping in.
Now that I look at it, shouldn't the Forestmaster also DEAL fire damage (fire missile type)?
Orcy would be pronounced as Orsy. I think that's why he added the K. I would've done the same (and I don't play W40K).
Perhaps we will be able to make a christmas present then.
Haven't decided yet, but it all depends on how many external files end up being edited.
There is a log generated at startup in my documents/the protectors. The game crashes when barbarian riders are in play (corrupted death animation). This has been fixed in 0.8.6.
