I totally agree. We would like to get to the stage where we do not depend on any of the HL resources. Whether this happens before we release a beta, I don't know ;-)
Unfortunately, yes but with time comes skill ;-) Games with advanced movement provide nearly unlimited possibilities and have kept many of us interested in gaming! We will do our best to ease new players into a proper game style though ;-)
hehe - thats why I code. I am a bit artistically challenged ;-) Need the map tho to test accel and rocket jumping ;-)

Hey - thanks! That is just a quick one that I threw together - the mappers intend to keep the map blocky for gameplay, but add eye-candy using no-clip brushes or some other magic :-)
O don't worry, we already have armour and will have power ups and all the other cool stuff that makes the game great!

Hmm, I don't like talking about myself. I am the code monkey for Deathmatch Quaked : Source - this is an improved Deathmatch Classic / Quake World mod for the source engine. Previously I have created the FierceBot for DMC - a bit ahead of its time (at least with regards to CPU requirements) but hey, learning makes us better. I am also the current coder for DMQ (Deathmatch Quaked - improved DMC for GoldSrc). Back in the real world, I am a software development consultant specialising in C# and the .NET framework.
