No, I said they don't have the imperial logo, the pads and LZ have republic emblems. It's the base structures that still have the imperial emblem, I checked.

Build pads and the unconquerable starting LZ in skirmish have republic emblem, but I looked closely and I was sure the buildings had imperial emblems.

Very few planets listed would be imperial before the first war, so maybe make some duplicate planets with new names just for that map? I don't know. My idea was Empire starts with a lot of forces concentrated in just 4-5 planets close together, and you basically blitzkrieg it out at first since you'll initially have more forces than the republic is prepared to defend against, until they run thin and you have to stop and use the newly acquired planets to build up again. Naturally, Dread Host and the Revanites wouldn't even be present on the map.

I have an idea for an Empire-only galactic conquest map- Great Galactic War. Basically, you start out with a small number of planets but a lot of forces, and invade the Republic. Because it's the start of the war, the Republic starts out controlling Korriban and you have to capture it to produce more sith, as well as other worlds normally under imperial control. Victory condition wouldn't be total dominance, but controlling certain planets (all or most of the worlds empire owns in normal map) an/or take Coruscant.

I like the idea of retextured rebel structures to give a feel the Rebellion is reusing abandoned republic designs, but maybe add some retextured imperial structures too or completely new designs for good measure, doubting the empire would have abandoned every design and the rebellion picked up every design abandoned.

I build up bases, bolster garrisons, and snatch every neutral world in reach, but before I can get to tech level 3 and build any more than 3-4 acclamator ships to guard each world the CIS starts attacking different worlds with 12 Munificent frigates and 2 ring carrier every minute or two, before I've even had a chance to invade any sep worlds.

My point though is they wouldn't own their own capitol ships or planets. As a single player campaign maybe, but not for galactic conquest or Skirmish.

Other mods have pulled off not having team colors at all in skirmish. Personally I think the map and other indicators are enough for determining faction, but do what you think is best.

I know, but what I'm asking is, will the Imperials/sardaukar/Corrino/whatever you want to call them going to be their own faction? I ask because Dune 2000 had them as a Harkonnen unit in multiplayer, and Emperor had them as a subfaction any faction can hire.
