Well about the hp's, in my projects I have the hardpoints untargetable, but still destroyable; this gives it a much more realistic feeling. When ships are clashing they just target random hp's which will eventually blow up, and you can also make it so that it doesn't require all hp's to be destroy in order to destroy a ship.

In that case I need to make the hangar shields more transparent :P

Well, the ai, I am playing GC at hard, from tech one as recommended as the Rebels. In the beginning the Empire spams me with their starting units and afterwards they build out their bases but they don't get additional units. I fixed this for my self by increasing the 'GC contrast' factor in the Difficulty adjustment XML.

I see your concern, the blue faces are supposed to be hangar shields, so the fighters spawn from there, I agree it's hard to see in this pic, my apologies for any confusion.

If you intend to make clone troopers I suggest making/getting a new model, but these could also do as some special Stormtroopers
