Return of the Shadows is a mod taking place in an alternate timeline, set after the events of the Imperial Civil War. The Imperial Remnant and the New Republic have signed peace and formed the Galactic Alliance, uniting the majority of the galaxy under a single banner. Corellian Engineering Corporation, Kuat Drive Yards and Mon Calamari Shipyards have been given the task of designing a new line of modern warships while the former Imperial Task Forces are hunting down the remnants of the Black Sun Pirates and the Hut Cartel. However, when an ancient alien race invades the galaxy Yuuzhan Vong style, the entire galaxy is thrown into peril once again. The majority of the galaxy has fallen within seven days and the Galactic Alliance has been pushed back to the south of the galaxy, now ruling from Geonosis. Imperial Extremists travel to Dathomir and establish a new Galactic Empire: The Tyranny. The galaxy is thrown into war once again.
So quite recently a beginning skinner has joined the team, so I'd like to welcome him to the mod (Welcome Delta :D). This is his first work to the mod: Changed the CIS emblem of the Recusant with the more appropriate Galactic Alliance symbol.

Why would the Galactic Alliance use such an outdated ship when they are at the height of their power? I would understand if it was the Rebel Alliance or even the New Republic, but this seems a little unlikely.
That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to it being a part of the Galactic Alliance's fleet, I just want to know why it would be there?
Well, during the invasion of the alien race, the majority of the Alliance's fleet was either destroyed or cut off. Therefor, when the remnants of the Alliance secured abandoned droid shipyards, they were more than happy to have that little bit of additional firepower on their side. + Most droid ships could be operated by droids, so they wouldn't need a living crew to use these kind of ships.
