My name is Marc-Eddy. I love to mod games. It started out with editing a few CNC units and then i discovered the whole world of modding. Then i joined my first forum and found out all new information. half of which i already knew.

Its 100% possible its just a matter of wether or not people are willing to bother to go through all the work. We've already randomized the faces, scopes, and vehicle textures as well. Really the engine is 100% capable its just are you willing to go the extra mile, if it dosn't work make it work by improvising.

We even managed to include NVG goggles on infantry at night time, and night maps are viewed by the player in night vision mode (light intensifying green) IR lasers are also in the works for infantry weapons so that they may appear in nvg.

We even managed to randomize weapon accuracy, player stances.... Basically chances of a hit/miss probability is now no longer dependent on the old ZH "scatter radius" we've taken it much much further. Even tracers now appear at certain intervals, different colors....

Right now we are just in need of help to bring the ZH engine up to graphics standards.

Well that's what were trying to figure out right now, Were wondering if we should move back to ZH and scrap all our CNC3 work. But before we make anything drastic we need to do more engine improvements. Things like shaders, water, bump mapping (extremely important), terrain bump mapping, higher res terrain texture res, lighting, shadows, command bars, a lot of improvements.

However once we DO move back to ZH, progress will be blazing fast. We could release version 0.1 in 1 or 2 months time. But the cnc3 engine has been nothing but problems, so were looking for a better foundation.

There is no hatred towards no one. I am the creator and leader of the mod and I am a proud American. And future US Army soldier.

To clarify some of your statements in your comments, the EU has assumed full control of the armed forces. N.A.T.O. is no longer existent, It is a fully fictional story. The EU is composed of many many European nations to satisfy the audiences in western and eastern europe. Russia has also been included. Everything is a free for all.

More will be revealed on the main reasons for the breakdown of NATO and the creation of a main EU military force in the Prologue missions which will be included in the Demo.

A message to all others anticipating the release of TAoW please acknowledge the amount of work that is required. From the basic "Simulation" part of our mod which is a huge deal, to the content (units,vehicles,sides,artwork,audio), up to the storyline. We have one of the most ambitious in all mods there is. Me and the team are working as hard as we humanly can given our personal lives are also a factor.

My point being, our original plan is our main plan. It's huge, it's ambitious, it takes a lot of work, but everything we promised will be there and we are sure to deliver.

If you have any questions, or would like to see the current status of the mod check our forums member section. Many many things have happened since the last update on MODDB. I mean engine changes, content, plot, so be sure some of your questions have not yet been already answered on our forums.

APS will be available for a few selected tanks. About thermal imaging it's practically useless or in no way possible to "implement" because players will not have a first person point of view of the tanks sights.

However, Night vision and infrared lasers for infantry have already been added to the game.

I can assure you we our primary goal is to keep everything as realistic as possible. Every unit, and weapon system will work as close to as it's real life counterparts. TAoW will also include an Armor penetration module.

Different rounds will have completely different effects on different armor. for example, don't expect a 25 mm bushmaster II cannon to penetrate a leopard 2A6. Same goes for light AT weapons.

We are also working on a way to make tank armor be more prone to damage depending on the point of attack. Due to the engine limit we had to come up with a work around and so far the concept is still very possible.

Again, I try my best to keep you all updated here via comments until the next real Moddb update, but in the mean time don't be afraid to create an account on our forums and access the member section.

actually the Stryker in question would be the Stryker Mobile Gun System. It carries a 105mm tank gun while the Abrams is equipped with a 120mm. It's already been coded into TAOW.

@jonny2410 - That would not be possible without the use of a universal "upgrade" or new faction.

ex1: create a desert version of the unit, and create a desert version of the faction. done.

ex2: create an upgrade that would change the model condition states. but an upgrade that would affect multiple units.

@james - yes my puppet lol XD. TAoW is back in action, not a minute to waste. We will be updating the forums with work in progress content soon enough. then an update for Moddb

Alright Hello Everyone, Yeah we've been absent for a while. It's true. But we are not even close to dead. We haven't released any updates or news on the current progress. But the art of war mod is not even close to asleep. A lot of work has been done in game, A lot of new models, ideas, and features. I ask everyone to be a little patient until the next update. You'll be fed soon enough... ;P

every aircraft in the mod has landing gear, especially since many of them will be used as ground objects for airbases and many will be able to land just like the jet fighters. especially in campaign missions.

another thing you need to know is that all aircrafts have been scaled properly. we have a special airfield logic. it's basically an invisible airfield scaled extremely large so when aircraft land they will land as realisticly as possible. can't reveal any more though.

it's own unit, we are trying to limit the upgrade logic and seperate the vehicles, units, and assets into classes. there are 3 current classes [Class 1, Class 2, amd Class 3]. in each class there will be different assets available. for example an abrams in class1 might be a TUSK abrams in class 3. and so on.

i'm working on many mods actually. The Art of War is my main one, Operation Rolling Thunder, started helping cwc europe but kind of quit, Operation flashpoint, Armed assault, are all just personal mods i was going to release. mainly reskins and such.
