I currently live and work in Costa Rica, but I'm from Los Angeles. I'm into Stalker SoC and CS mods. My favorites are SMP 2.4, OL2009, and SoC Complete 2009. I'm just an end user, but I'd like to learn more about tweaking/modding games, and overclocking my pc for gaming.

I installed the Bin folder files from the mod, into the SoC bin folder.

I downloaded the XR_3DA.exec and it gave me the choice of 1.005 Russian or 1.005 WW. It doesn't say U.S., so I guess the WW is the right choice, correct?

This downloaded WW 1.005 XR_3DA.exec file is 1.37 MB. The one from your mod(bin folder), is larger(5.51 MB) and newer.

The older/smaller XR_3DA.exec file should replace the newer/larger one?

So I have to add the patch that you provided the link for on top of the mod's gamedata file(or let the exec run itself), correct?

Is the installation of the OL2010 rar file any different? can I just put the gamedata file into the SOC directory, like with other stalker mods?

I just looked at the utorrent estimated download time. 3 DAYS and 2 HOURS!

This will be the last time I download anything with utorrent.

I've downloaded other Stalker mods as big as this one(or bigger) on other sites(MegaUpload, filefront,and fileplanet) and have never had to wait more than 4-5 hours(at the maximum) to download them.

To any modders reading this: utorrent sucks for mod downloading(unless you have 24-72 hours to download 2-3 Gbs)!

After 10 minutes of downloading, it still hasn't downloaded more than 0.4 percent of the rar file. the download speed with utorrent is around 30-45 kb.

I have WinZip/7zip and I just installed Zipx.

I suggest converting this mod download files to regular zip files, 7zip, or even rar.

I've never seen any other mod downloads using zipx files. It's best to stick with what is used most often
Otherwise, many of us won't be able to download/install this mod. No program on my pc even recognizes zip x files(including Zipx)

I had to manually enter the gamedata file(and all sub files, and copy each individual file from the patch, to the gamedata subfolders.
That's the only way I got the patches to install.

I'm still getting the Jupiter/Yanov station "sound_theme. script:256" CTD though.
It happens within 2 minutes of playing any saved games.
I've given up playing this mod, until I can get a fix that works.

It seems like patch 1.05 just won't take, when I copy/extract it over the gamedata file. I've re-installed CoP, Redux(with and without textures weapons packs, then patch 1.05, and the game still plays like none of 1.05 fixes have worked.

4 different installs..... same problem with CTD's on certain quests/missions. Plus a few random CTD's as well.

Yes, I have CoP English/US version. This is the only CoP mod that has given me this many CTD problems(I've gotten thru SMRTER Pripyat and Pripyatan Gold with only 1 or 2 CTD in 20-30 hours of playtime.

I forgot to add that I also installed the patch 1.05 on top of the gamedata file. It isn't solving the ranger station CTD, or Cardan opening Snag's box CTD.

I've ran PRIPYATAN Gold and SMARTR Pripyat, and played thru both of them with only 1 or 2 CTD(both combined), so I know it's not my system(Core 2 Duo E8600, 4 gb ram, Vista 64bit, Nvidia GTX 260 factory superclocked)

Also, I'm hoping that NPC's can't see you through bushes and be accurate with non scoped weapons from unrealistic distances in this mod.

NPC's should have the same vision as we do(no eagle eyes, unless you give them to everyone).

Are there any stashes at all? part of the fun of Stalker games is finding stuff in hidden stashes. Maybe they can be made harder to be found or reached.

Maybe we should each donate $10-$20 to give you guys a little extra incentive. I'd like to see you all get rewarded for all the time you put into your mods.

When I get rich(it'll happen some day soon, ha ha), I'm going to hire those who made the best mods for SOC/COP to develop/design/create a new STALKER or stalker style game that incorporates the best features from SMP/Complete/Oblivion Lost mods.
Maybe someone will someday design a new engine(better than xray) that allows for more features(weapons), without the CTD's

I'm using Vista 64 bit.
I can play SMP 2.4 Full(it already has patch 18), but when I install patch 20(yes, I know 19 is included in 20), I get too many CTDs and I can't use Atlas(CTD every time I hit F3 or F4).

I've finished SMP 2.4(patch 18 included) without patching it to #20. I get a CTD once or twice every hour(when loading a save or sometimes moving into another map). I just dealt with it and restarted the game. I hope 2.5 really solves these issues. If 2.5 contains everything you listed(with complex faction wars after the quests end/in freeplay) and it plays smoothly(without too many CTD's), then I would vote it Mod of the Year.

I know my system is strong enough to run SMP mod fairly well.
I've ran Oblivion Lost, Complete 2009 and other complex Stalker mods, without performance issues(besides a slight hiccup now and then). Same with CS mods.
I play Crysis and COD 4 and 5 at max settings without any lag or long loading times. My rig isn't the problem.

I'm just wondering if I followed the install directions for the combo patch)#18/#19) correctly, and if the problems I'm having with the patch are common.

Every time I try to open the Atlas spawn screen after installing the combo patch #19/#20, I get CTD. It will also CTD a lot(runtime errors) within the first 5 minutes of starting the game, and makes the game unplayable.

I've deleted the 3 ui_atlas#.script files from gamedata/scripts and also the 3 ui_atlas#.xml files form gamedata/config/ui, like the readme file says. Am I deleting the correct files?

I'm only able to play SMP 2.4 Exec with the included #18 patch, for the moment. I really dig this mod. I just wish I could get the combo #19/#20 patch to install and work correctly. I hope 2.5 will run smoothly and be easy to install(exec?).

My OS is Vista Home 64-bit.
