I know this is a bit late, since the mod is... well, complete. Not as criticism, but as an idea I just had, you could have had a warp rift as a base, that's it. no other structures. the hq produces sufficient power and requisition by itself. It can be dedicated to a god, and can be upgraded for higher resource output and more units.

The reason behind this idea is that daemons come from a rift, destroy and kill and then, disappear. They do not build structures, they just come and kill. But as I said, this mod is good as it is, this is just to present an idea, you can perhaps use it in another mod as a base to build upon :)

I have written so much that you do not have to answer, I'm just sitting by my computer and I am in a writing mood, I wrote that mini novel about my primarch... I apologise :P

I'm in a quite excited mood right now, so I thought I could tell you the story of my primarch (IGNORE IF YOU DO NOT CARE, THIS STORY IS REALLY LONG)

He fell onto a feudal world, resembling medieval Arabia. The planet was sandy, desolate and hot. A group of soldiers found him and took him to one of the sultans (emir, sheikh?) of the many kingdoms of the planet.The sultan ordered the baby to be brought up as a soldier.

He was assigned to the army of a quite elderly general, who became his "father", and thanks to his skill with his 2 handed sabre and martial pride, he quickly became second-in-command.

the general got old and in his will gave leadership of the army to the primarch, who led his army in conquest against the other kingdoms.

After unifying the planet, seeing the reigning ruler as a weak man unworthy of power, overthrew him in a coup and seized power.

During the great crusade he was always sent into the most difficult of battles, often vastly outnumbered, partially because his warriors were so good at hand-to-hand combat, due to having fought their way through his homeworld, but also because the primarch demanded it due to his warrior pride. To be sent into an easy battle had no honour or glory if you won.

This seeking of glory and vanquishing ever greater armies, evermore by himself, alone,increased over time. Then there came a time when Horus convinced him that Khorne could allow him to best armies the Emeperor could not give him. He was lost, body and soul given to Khorne.

During the siege of Terra he was away from the main force, destroying scout titans and other worthy opponents. after the emperor was defeated, he roared in frustration, because now Terra was too battered to pose a challenge, and in fact, he had planned to kill Horus and claim the Emperors skull for himself.

Rewarded for his slaughter on Terra, he ascended to become a daemon prince of Khorne, discarding his sabre for a greataxe of immense size and becoming a monster of red sinew and brass.

After this he willingly allowed his legion, the Omega Legion, to fall apart into separate warbands, because his thirst for ever greater personal glory was still there, and he had begun to view his army as sort of cheating, because it made the task of winning so much easier than being alone.

Seeking worthy opponents, he ventured into the Ork empires, and begun his slaughter of the green creatures. On the first ork planet he conquered, it became his Daemon World, with palaces of bone and blood red sand. Although a corrupt version of this homeworld, he abandoned it after a short time, leaving it to be a battleground between khornate warbands.

Continuing on besting anyone worthy of his wrath, from Tyranid splinter fleets to ork WAAGHS!, he ascended again, but this time, he ascended to become a bloodthirster of Khorne (disclaimer: a DP can still continue to get further power and rewards after ascension, according to the wh40k wiki, and a bloodthirster is a logical continuation).

Now stronger than any of the primarchs and waiting for an opportunity to overthrow An'ggrath as Khornes favourite, he now prowls the galaxy in search of any opponent that could satisfy his lust for glory, that which was to become his downfall so long ago.

I am honestly thankful not only for that you answer so carefully, but also because you appreciate my idea. Most people who have read my ideas often use THEIR interpretation of the Wh40k lore to simply pummel me into the ground, so acceptance is a pleasant relief. :)

I have simplified my idea: I am buying a Bloodthirster of Insensinate Rage and calling it my primarch, because these models are fiendishly expensive. I have one problem though: should he have a 2 handed axe in two hands or one in each hand, would it look stupid? Please give feedback :)

Btw, do you know a place on the web where nice Wh40k fans can share their ideas and interpretations without behaving like five year olds?

I have been thinking about creating my own Khornate daemon primarch, using the lost primarchs (GWs two unknown primarchs, which they have said were for purposes like this :) )as as my backstory to a backstory...

I want to make him stronger than any of the primarchs, by both appearance and "feeling" - since by unknown you get unlimited artistic freedom -, and he's is going to be a conversion. Here are the traits I would like:

super-tall: the body of An'ggrath the Unbound
Covered in armour, perhaps remnants of terminator armor
A massive two handed sword or axe

I'm doing this because no modder has created a choice in the Army Painter to create your own Daemon Prince with EXTENSIVE customisation options, and just imagining my character just is not enough... which would be so much work that I understand. ANYONE who knows something about painting miniatures can help :)

This mod is REALLY good, it really immerses you in the daemonic invasion :)... BUT there is one little thing... all building except the HQ are for practical purposes far too big, IMO they should be 75% or 50% of their current size, because on some maps like Fallen City it is genuinely difficult to build a base... Could you fix this please? Thanks :)

Could you take the different Daemon Prince models for the different Chaos Gods from Chaos Daemons Mod and have it incorporated in FoK? Not that it matters that much, but it would increase the immersion. Of course, ask for their permission first :)

The Khorne Butcher Terminators look like Black Corsairs terminators, could this be fixed?

The Chaos preacher/orator unit (the one that sounds like eliphas) looks like an Chaos Undivided unit regardless of which God your Legion worships? Could this be fixed too?

Hey, I have two questions:

1. Could you give Chaos the chance to worship the different gods of chaos, Firestorm over Kronus had this mechanic, and it was REALLY good, when you could truly create your own legion. I always go full on Khornate and just scream...

2. If not, can I have this mod and FoK active at the same time, it would be a nice fusion effect? The work that you have done is honestly impressive, well done! I'm honestly impressed!

Are you going to turn easy difficulty into medium difficulty or something? If so, the game might get too hard for me to play, I'm not really a veteran, I just play for fun and relaxation, not stress and anger... I've just read about something like that being proposed at least here on the forums :/

But of course, if 99 people think the game is too easy and 1 person thinks it's just right, then who do you as modders listen to? The 99% of course... and that's good btw.

Out of curiosity, what do you think of claims that Sauron is too OP, and that every ring hero should be exactly as strong as the other? I think those people only chant "balancing or nothing" and don't think about the lore. In LOTR lore, Sauron+ring IS a ridiculously strong combo, he has all the reason to be game breaking...what do you think?

I'm not saying that balancing is bad, I'm just saying that lore should be also taken into account, I'm MAYBE putting a stronger emphasis on lore than game balance between factions and units etc than some people at least... :)

I have a fun question: is the giant sword you can give a troll hero heavy enough to send you FLYING into the air when it hits you? The big granite hammer obliterates you, as it should...

Before any of us can answer, we need to come up with the swords weight, a trolls strength, the gondor soldier's weight etc.

Is anyone willing to do some math for no purpose whatsoever? :D

Just to check, the check game for updates-readme doesn't mean that armor is technically better than health? I'm not really a person who looks at stats and stuff, I like to immerse myself in the world of BFME and not argue about the "best" this and that, but IS health as good as armor?

And the swordmaster is only for a hero of men, and lasts a short time, so I don't know why that matters... again, not arguing, but pondering :)

Also, are you going to replace barad-dur with a different building once you come up with a less unique building, or make it so that the citadel for example can perform the same functions as barad-dur, thus not forcing you to build it...?

I have a question regarding the new custom hero attributes: you combined health and health regen, which is actually a good idea, they fit well together. However, the result is a large amount of health that drains quickly.

If you combined armor and health regen instead, the heros resistance to different kinds of attacks would rise with more armor points, meaning a longer "lifespan", compared with increasing the same amount of points in health instead.

What I'm trying to say is that, as an example, you take 100 percent damage from everything with max health and zero armor, but maybe 50 and 75 percent damage from different sources with the opposite setup. Did you think about this when you decided to merge health and health regen into one?

You can see the effects of armor in the readme or something similiar... Im just asking a question/presenting an alternative, not critisising, really impressive work with the mod! :)

I have a small request, concerning BFME 1 actually: the mordor outpost looks like a mini-barad dur, while the citadel still looks like the mumakil tusks with flag-contraption. EA intended obviously to give a facelift to the mordor citadel, but did an amateur mistake...

Could you just move the "facelift" from the mordor outpost-file to the citadel-file and release it as a mod? I would be... let's say, less amazed at EAs stupidity XD

P.S another small request, for ROTWK, would be to reduce the mountain trolls starting health regain with 2 points and increase its health with 2 points, and release this as a mod too. I have always been disappointed with the troll heros low health, IMO he should be a walking tank that just refuses to die (I'm not thinking gameplay-wise, but how trolls are supposed to be in my mind :) ). I have a question, which many have probably asked: Can you add WALLS to the Mordor castle? Yes, walls, that mordor has never had in any BFME game :/

You could use the mordor castle texture, widen it and bend it into a circle, and directly use the castle upgrades as wall upgrades. The gate could look like the black gate, which opens outward. Could this be done in any way? Thanks in advance, and btw, the quality of your work is honestly amazing *tips hat* :)

I have moved the Astartes_1.0_.7z-file into my DoW 3 Retribution-folder and written -modname Astartes into my launch options in Steam. The game either crashes or the unit skins don't change, ie. the mod doesn't activate.

Can you help me please? I have changed the graphics to ultra high everywhere.... I'm not a computer genius, so if you have advice, you pretty much have to walk me through it; thanks in advance! :)

Good news, Doctorheredoctor: I sent a request to SWR Productions (the creators of the ZH mod Shockwave) in which I asked very politely for them to perhaps come and work on this mod. If they accept, Hunter75 should contact you in the near future!
