Rename HDTP\System\DeusEx.u to DeusEx.u.unused
Yeah, we're planning to produce adaptations for all major campaign mods. Zodiac down; TNM, 2027, Nihilum, Terminus machina to go.
Ah, they got a custom window for their own surveillance screen. I need to provide an adaptation for unifiedDeusEx to work with it in 2x scale, I've already done it for Zodiac. Thanks for letting me know :-)
Luckily, next release of unifiedDeusEx will support either 1x or 2x UI (and with any renderer). Theoretically you should be able to use it in 1x UI mode with other campaign mods.
Also, we do have in plans to improve game performance on slower CPUs and GPUs. We will be working on it in summer.
Yeah, I had to cut off the silencer mod from the screenshot. Perhaps after I preview it in 3Ds Max...
Well, someone tried, and they say it works: "With Nilihim everything seems to work fine except the appearance box is scaled wrong. Images are perhaps a 1/4 size so I see four images of the main character.".
We will produce an official adaptation for Nihilum when we get to playing it :-), right now we got our hands full with work for upcoming Revision release. However, looks like Nihilum should be somewhat functional out of the box already.
Hmm, your GPU is about middle-of-the-road. Perhaps your slowdown is caused by having it render at relatively high resolution of 1707x960.
No worries, switchable 1x/2x graphics will be available in Revision 1.0, and in the next release of unifiedDeusEx.
That's highly unusual. Were you using the same renderer before installing unifiedDeusEx?
Also, what's your videocard? unifiedDeusEx should use 10-15 more MB of video RAM than otherwise, but it shouldn't be an issue for modern videocards.
Can you please run a GPU monitor (like MSI Afterburner, or GPU-Z, or something vendor-specific like Radeon Pro or RivaTuner) and observe GPU utilization and VRAM usage with and without unifiedDeusEx?
Also, next release of unifiedDeusEx will support Direct3D 9 and OpenGL renderers in addition to Direct3D 10.
Yes, unifiedDeusEx can be installed on stock game without New Vision and HDTP. Double-sized UI itself does not cause any slowdown.
Our upcoming release will also support OpenGL and Direct3D 9 renderers (D3D9 one is faster than D3D10 for now).
Hmm, maybe your monitor is doing some smarts on its own, like letterboxing or so. Are you playing on TV? Try setting a higher resolution than 1707x960, pick something with an appropriate aspect ratio. Also, make sure you set FOV in the launcher to the true physical aspect ratio of your display.
Yeah, we got the switchable 1x/2x UI functionality, are testing it. May not have time to release it before Revision ships, but we'll try.
For now, you should both select the resolution 1707x960 in the launcher and check "Non-scaling GUI" there.
Hmm, weird. Can you please post a full-screen screenshot? Might be a bug.
Or, might be actually behavior by design, as 2x UI increases size of all UI elements twice in all dimensions :-)
Check "Non-scaling GUI" in the launcher Configuration tab.
Thanks for reporting a bug! Fixed it, will include in the next release.
For now, try setting your resolution to 1707x960.
We'll include the ability to switch between original-sized UI (640x480) and 2x-upscaled UI (1280x960) in the next release.
Actually, you could re-enable crosshair for scoped weapons in BioMod, by typing "noscoped" into the console.
We will revert to the no-crosshair policy for scoped weapons in the next release of unifiedDeusEx. But hey, no worries! We'll add an in-game menu to control this and other features of BioMod and Shifter, in that same release.
Phillon, thank you for kind words and review :-) unifiedDeusEx is distributed under liberal licensing terms, and anyone can incorporate any part of it in their work. I'll get in touch w/ CyberP.
Also, unifiedDeusEx will keep on getting better with time, stay posted :-) I'm seriously busy with Revision integration work now, but I'll be also improving unifiedDeusEx during and after April and May.
Now that I've got my hands on profiling tools, I'll be looking at Deus Ex performance across the board ;-) Probably won't get to it until summer, though.
Check "Non-scaling GUI" in the launcher Configuration tab. Right now you have "Default GUI". Also, set your resolution in the launcher to 1707x960.
You extract the unifiedDeusEx archive to your DeusEx directory.
Have you checked "Use OTP GUI scaling fix" in launcher configuration?
Once you start using Marijn Kentie's Deus Ex launcher, I don't think using in-game graphics menus is a supported scenario anymore. Try setting things only via configuration tab of Deus Ex launcher.
Yeah, there you go. For the moment, your resolution has to be both >1280 in width and >960 in height.
For now, try setting 1707:960 as resolution in Deus Ex launcher.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
(a) What's the native resolution of your monitor?
(b) Can you please post a screenshot?
(c) Soon we will ship a release with an option to swich high-resolution UI on or off.
Thanks :-) Added them to the task list. Should be able to look at them by July :-)
Thanks :-) It's about to get even better...
Gotcha. Well, then you probably don't need UI doubling feature of dxEnhanced, so why not just use BioMod? That said, within a few weeks we'll ship a version allowing to use unscaled UI.
Also, try using Direct3D 9 renderer (if you aren't already). From my experience, it's the fastest one. Play with its settings per Cwdohnal.com
As with Shifter, I will make Smoke gameplay features optional.
Also, there probably already is an existing line "bNewSkillSystem=False" there, edit it to read "bNewSkillSystem=True".
