Description

  • Unified DeusEx.u, combining BioMod with latest Shifter and dxEnhanced. Extensively configurable. Fully compatible with latest versions of other common mods. Tested and stable.
  • User interface dimensions doubled for modern high-resolution displays, including sharp, antialiased UI icons, rendered in 24-bit color from scratch. No more pixellated, low-color icons. Building up on work done in original dxEnhanced, we present a coherent high-definition user interface.
  • DeusEx.exe launcher fixed to support scenarios requiring lots of memory. No more crashes on saving.
  • A number of other improvements and bugfixes.

Features And Changes

  • New HDTP Release 2 meshes are being loaded, when it's installed
  • Includes high-resolution user interface from dxEnhanced and updates all UI icons and textures with high-quality 24-bit ones :-)
    • Out of 151 total inventory & belt icons, I am including 82 newly rendered icons (all HDTP items and key items from basic Deus Ex) in the initial release, will finish rendering 57 more icons by the end of March 2014, and haven't yet decided about 12 remaining ones. For all icons I have not yet rendered, I am including upscaled versions of originals (but they also look nice and smooth).
    • Of 821 other UI icons (HUD, augmentation and health tabs, data vault images and maps, damage indicators, computers logos, skill icons, etc.) I've upscaled 277 from original Deus Ex art using appropriate scaling algorithms, they look much better than original dxEnhanced pixel-doubled icons. Maybe some graphics artists want to help drawing new ones? ;-)
  • Includes all latest Shifter features
    • If you're like me, and feel that many new features of Shifter unbalance the game and make progress too easy, I've added configuration options to enable or disable them one by one. Now it's possible to either play regular Shifter/BioMod, or have a basic, back-to-the roots Deus Ex experience. Everything is enabled by default, except the skill system.
  • Includes most BioMod features
    • I changed Tracking augmentation back to Targeting (the idea is nice, but Targeting is way more useful)
    • I reenabled crosshair for scoped weapons (I will change it to be controlled via a variable in .ini file for the next release)
  • Partial listing of bugs fixed:
    • DeusEx launcher: made large address aware, and stack limit increased from 1 MB to 2 MB, to fix problems while saving in Revision
    • BioMod: restored default jumping height with Athletics skill at Untrained, to avoid getting trapped on the roof of warehouse
    • BioMod: Shifter skill system was partially disabled in BioMod, now it can be either completely disabled (default) or completely enabled
    • dxEnhanced: fixed to display unscaled 256x256 data vault images in other mods properly, instead of space-separated quarter slices
    • Shifter: displaying correct karkian carcass for karkian and baby karkian corpses, instead of cat carcass
    • Zodiac: a number of fixes, see the description of Zodiac adapdation

Coming Soon

  • Finish rendering all remaining icons for all belt and inventory objects from 3D meshes
  • Improve augmentation HUD icons
  • Add options to control BioMod features
    • Whether to replace Targeting augmentation with Tracking
    • Whether to disable crosshair for scoped weapons
  • Percentage of effective environmental and combat protection is still being rendered in tiny font, try to fix that
  • Integrate Smoke's mod
  • Integrate Human Renovation
  • Allow to select either regular, or upscaled user interface
  • Add support for Direct3D 9 and OpenGL renderers

Requirements

  • Screen resolution at least 1280x960, or higher
    • Both the resolution width has to be 1280 or more, and resolution height has to be 960 or more
  • OPTIONAL: using Direct3D 10 renderer
    • For now it's required to use new, high-resolution icons

New Version - More Eye Candy

News

I have read the 2nd page of texture creation tutorial :-D, and posted an updated release v0.2 using uncompressed icons with full alpha. If you've seen earlier screenshots, check out the updated ones, they look approximately twice as good in comparison :-) And for those of you, who have already downloaded an earlier version of unifiedDeusEx, you should seriously consider upgrading ;-), otherwise you'd be doing yourself a disservice.

Fixed main menu, improved icons. Also check back in a week or two, as by then I should finish rendering the rest of belt and inventory icons.

Now if only one final update could be released with both Biomod 1.1 and Shifter 1.9 RC1.

I know I'm late but this is because Revision doesn't support this mod anymore.
