have youu started the game before installing the mod?
if not make the options.ini (in documents) yourself, it's a quite a common error

check if you have the latest drivers for yourvieo card

have you tried running i compatibillity mode (win xp sp3 or win 98/me) as admin?
do you have the latest video card drivers?

I need some help.
last week i got a new laptop (the old one broke down) with win 8.1 and I just can't get Generals (or Zero Hour) to run, here is a list of what I tried (all to no avail):
*all the known trics with making a options.ini in the data file
*all the different compatibility mode settings (and at all times run as admin)
*delete the dbghelp.dll
*delete the data file
*reinstall and try everything without patching first

I am probably overlooking something, but I just don't know and can't find any other solutions then these.
Pls help, I really like this mod and I want to play it again.

try setting compatibility to windows xp sp1, on all .exe files
launcher, mod and game (in the program files). maybe it helps :)

actually it's always called a gas turbine. (and if it has a fan it's mostly called a turbofan (high or low by-pass depending on ratios)) jet engine is trivial name referring to the jet of air that blasts out of the exhaust of a gas turbine. and from that the nickname jet that is used for airplanes that use gas-turbine engines derived.
