It seems pretty weird when weapons in Brutal Doom feel more satisfying than weapons in Doom 4. The shotgun and the pistol come to mind specifically.
(The pistol I'm thinking of might be from Project Brutality, I'm not sure. It's the one that you can dual wield and add a silencer to.)
I realize this is an older mod, and it's been a while since the last update, but I figure I should mention that the mod's website is down.
I had a hell of a time getting this to work, so I'll post my solution here.
Under the [IWADSearch.Directories] and [FileSearch.Directories] sections of the .ini configuration file, make sure that *every* directory that contains something you might want to include is in there. Remember, IT DOES NOT SEARCH THROUGH THE SUBDIRECTORIES.
If you have any file names or folder names that have a space in them, put quotes around it. "Brutal Doom.pk3", for example.
Also, if anyone wants to go poking around, it seems like the pk3 files are just renamed Zip files. So if you have an error code, you can actually unzip it, go into the text files, change a bit of the code, and recompress it (making sure to back up the original).
Why were the old files for the game deleted? I can kind of understand wanting to change the credits section of the mod files so that the person in charge of the mod is more accurate, but I don't understand why the previous version of the mod was removed. From what I hear, it was working just fine.
Two rocket launchers at once is dumb in the best possible way. I almost want the game to be slower so I have more time to appreciate the gratuitous amount of carnage going on here.
The site seems pretty dead to me at the moment. The URL's up for sale, even.
I appreciate that you're releasing the mod updates in complete packages rather than forcing everyone to install a base mod and a series of patches.
I'm still waiting to hear about what the dependancies are for this mod. I'd rather not install 12 gigabytes of games just for one thing.
That's too bad. Some of the guns looked pretty neat.
I don't know. I was able to run morbus just fine before the gmod update screwed things up. I think the error bars are because of something else.
BTW, what are the dependencies for this mod? I heard it needed counter-strike source, but what else does it need?
For some reason, the mod is currently broken. When I tried playing it a few days ago, the players were invisible, and there was a surprising amount of lag. Other people on the server also had the same problem.
There are no populated servers right now for me to test to see whether this is still the case.
How? Oblivion doesn't support alt-tabbing to a different window.
I have. It's the kind of helmet that has a faceplate to protect the eyes.
