You just read it completely wrong. He doesn't mean Lórien is balanced in 1K or balanced at all right now, he means that the balance is done for 1K (things being balanced right now or not notwithstanding). They tried to balance Lórien and everything else for 1K, but it does not mean that Lórien is balanced right now. Balance changes will come with 4.5 anyway so maybe Lórien will be now less overpowered for everyone else and stronger for you.

Imladris Archers might be better as everything Imladris, but they also come in lesser numbers and take a while to be available and more money to be fully upgraded.

Elk Riders' passive is literally an anti-cav ability, and quite strong to boot.

Lórien has really fast units to offset their base weakness, so if the enemy attacks, they can come quickly to defend it. In my opinion, it cannot be left undefended in any case and be expected to survive for a while. Any faction base can fall if it's left unguarded, Lórien's base (like Isengard's base) is "weaker" by design, but it offsets that in many ways. The economy of the base is also amazing, there's a reason why they usually end games with the most resources aside from the aforementioned Isengard. (Adding to this, I don't consider it the weakest at all just for the lack of walls, it might be "weaker" like Isengard's would be in that way but it actually isn't, and the point about fast units offsetting it still stands.It also has the archers to make up for it.)

In turn for costing money, the Mirkwood Outpost's "Call the Horde"-like power gives stronger units than Call the Horde or Wulfgar's power do. Morgul or Dol Guldur orcs, which would be the units that can be considered "strong" from the ones affected by Mordor's Call The Horde, are limited to an outpost like Mirkwood, and those outposts don't have the utility that Mirkwood has. Denethor's power forbids the units recruited while it is on effect from ever getting upgrades or using formations, which makes them much weaker by design. Wulfgar's power only has an effect on units that are mostly good on the early game. Mirkwood is usually considered the best outpost in the game because of all the things that Oak has named, and every part of it also produces resources. As it has a better economy, the cost also hurts them less than it would in another faction. (Adding to this, Thranduil's mobilization has an effect on Palace Guards and Elkriders, which are quite good units, specially Palace Guards in my opinion, which just like Gondor's Tower Guards, are good overall and not only in their anti-cav purpose. In turn, Denethor's ability doesn't allow to recruit Tower Guards.)

I won't discuss the boons Lórien has because there are so many advantages on the faction that make it the strongest faction in the mod.

The Angmar campaign is not done by the Edain Team, it is a submod by Necro and SilverElf. I helped with it and find it amazing.

Also, the model isn't bad, it is quite all right. Not AotR quality of models, sure, but those are of enormous quality. In turn, I think Edain has better gameplay, while AotR has better graphics. Still, I don't see why Edain shouldn't show their own models if they wish to.

As an example, imagine you want to take a custom hero called Earnur for Imladris. You would click on Earnur, and then press E, and Earnur would be selected as the hero. I hope it works!

To pick a custom hero for Imladris or Rohan, you must open the hero selection, click on that hero and then type their starting letter. If there's more than one with that letter, you'll need to do it more than once. It is better explained on the pop-up that appears on the mod itself :P

Also, this isn't the best place to ask, as this is the news for the Angmar Submod (though still the page for the Edain Mod)

Demons and Nightmares (and Dark Elves) are an old easter egg from Edain that were unused in 4.4.1, so they were added to the campaign.

On the no recruiting part, that may have been a one-off error.

It's receiving less damage. It wouldn't make sense to use Aragorn if his only difference towards the others is dealing less damage (and not having a benefit to using him) :P

For Rohan and Imladris, there's a special way to choose Custom Heroes. When you open the Custom Hero list with them, a box of text appears with the instructions. You need to select the hero in the list, and then press the initial letter of their name in your keyboard. If there's more than one hero with the same initial, you may have to do this more than once.

I hope it works!

Edit: Somebody answered a bit before me (like seconds), that's a perfect timing if I've ever seen one :P

Edain has an option to disable the ini files it adds to the game folder, so it shouldn't be needed to make a new copy. The mod can be used just disabling Edain's files in its launcher without any problems :P

Borei, these are things that you can do while you wait for 4.5 and Edain news (which the last ones are actually from December and not from 2016) instead of wasting your time saying that the mod is dead:

- Read books
- Play Edain (duh) or other mods
- Listen to music
- Live life in general
- Learn modding yourself

Be patient, it gives nothing but rewards :P complaining about something we all know and accept will do nothing but disencourage the team, which will actually give less news since they will feel less like working on the mod.

Thank you for the response, Walk!

I've supported the mod throughout this, may we call it, "rough path" and I will continue to do so because, no matter what, it is just simply amazing that a mod made by people on their spare time has become one of my favourite games ever, and led me to meet so many great people, on Discord, MU and here, and well, three months of fewer news are not going to make me hate on the Team, its hard work and the whole community. That's why I get so angry at people who treat the Team like they SHOULD be doing whatever the users demand. There is legitimate criticism (like, I must admit, maybe those communication issues) and then, there's a whole new level. But anyway, don't thank me for the support, I thank you, the Beta Testers and the Team for the amazing things you do!

On the news part, I'm really intrigued by the "not gameplay related" part, I can't wait to see what it's about. The gameplay videos are a cool initiative too, no matter what people say. It is great to see those powers in actions, and Carc's Ravens seem a lot more interesting to me after having seen the video.

Anyway, I can't wait for the news to be released, and for 4.5 in general, and of course, I'll continue to support the mod as I always have done :)

Well, seems some people don't think publishing a video NOW (even if it is from old news) is a sign of the mod being alive... Even if it is not new work, if the mod was dead, nothing would have been published lol and I'm sure there's more to come SOON.

Sorry, but your post is ridiculous. Aulë replied with respect and you went out to get him calling him pathetic for no reason. Is it pathetic to support a game we LIKE? I personally think it is more pathetic to write countless times "Edain is dead lolololol" and then come back and say it is the greatest thing ever when they release a version again. Can't THEY play something else and stop whining?

We just want to discuss the mod we LIKE, is that pathetic? Mate... You don't make any sense.

Hi, I'd like to suggest something:

In the other ASOIAF/GOT mod, there are explorable locations like Tower of Joy or the ruins of Castamere. I prefer this mod to the other thanks to the variety of options it has, the companions being real characters and so on, but something I'd really love to have here are locations like that, with abandoned chests and such.

I hope this is a good suggestion, and sorry if I bother! I know you don't have a lot of time to work on this, but I hope you consider it worthy.

And lastly, thank you for this great mod, I can't wait for 2.0!

You can play as Arnor if you choose Gondor on a map labeled as "Arnor:", and the Misty Mountains will come in a future update.
