As this was made without permission from either team, and they both make competing mods, I expect this to get taken down any second. But hey, the files are on my computer now, so atleast some people get to keep it.

For those of us that do run beefier setups, could there possibly be a more heavy version, or would it run badly anyway?

This is not really a bug, it is more like a placeholder for content to be added later. It is still in alpha stage you know :p

Well, in reality, peasants wouldn't even make a buckle in plate armor. Now, I haven't tried this out myself yet, but if what I have read is true, plate armor really should be buffed. I mean, plate armor is practically impervious to almost every type of weapon. I own a set myself(A real one, custom made and all, not one of those cheap replicas), and I get hit with swords, axes, hillebards, all of these things. And it merely buckles the plate lightly. Now I know that it can't really work like that for gameplay purposes, but plate armor really should make you hard to kill.

Nope, though you could export-import your character, then atleast you will have the stats and gold.
