Digging the weapons, especially the animations, especially that over-under rifle. Will definitely keep my eye on this one. :)

So disappointing. :( The first part was ok, but with rebirth you start a habit of having the player experiment and kill himself over and over in order to find where you want him to go, and this just doesn't let up. The explosives on the stair case, the zombies at the top of the elevator, the injuries in the tutorial, the uselessness of bullet time, the spiders in the damn vent...

I got to the part where a radar appears onscreen and a giant crowd of continuously spawning zombies rush you, and quit. Mod needs a lot of tweaking before I'd play it again.

The flares need to stick to where they hit instead of bounce around, and they need to last much longer, and be a bit brighter.
The bleeding/injury system needs to be toned down.
The levels need to be rebalanced to be comprehendable. Experimentation by death and loading a quicksave should NOT be the solution to a twisty environment!
Shots and reloading in bullet time need to be sped up, and pressing the bullet time button while in slo-mo should drop me out of it back to normal instead of using up another... yellow thing whatever the hell they are uselessly.

The hand holding the bottle looks really ****** up. Take off the specular mapping, PLEASE, I'm begging you. Not everything needs to be shiny and wet looking!

This is, without a doubt, the funnest Source Mod out right now. I occasionally host a few games on my computer with friends, and restricting everybody to melee and dynamite only is ******* AMAZING to play.
I'd like it if you would add a real way to restrict certain weapons or play styles; as it is, I just have to play overbearing admin and berate everybody that joins to follow the rules. :P

Keep up the good work!

Also: Why are there no options to set a server name, password, or max player count on the "Create game" screen like for most every other source mod or game?

Very disappointed, mostly due to the balance issues the mod is filled to the brim with. Playing as a human feels like having nails pounded in your balls. You're slow, weak, easily killed, can't hide, and only get once chance. Zombies on the other hand are fast, strong, take so much ammo to kill on average that a player can never handle more than two at a time, and that's stretching it, and only three or so before he's completely out of ammo anyway, have Zombie Vision which makes humans easily found and tracks without any sort of difficulty at all, and have so many respawns they might as well be infinite. They can also spawn pretty much anywhere, it seems, including pretty much everywhere humans tend to gather together for safety, so any attempts at teamwork are instantly obliterated by a zombie spawning in the middle of the pack.
Have you guys not actually PLAYED this before releasing it?

recb_city and streets, I think? The city one was darker (with numerous lightless air vents to crawl through, and I got stuck MULTIPLE times in them because the people with flashlights I was chasing around turned a corner and left me behind), but both were very similar looking and styled. :( Endless corridors filled with endless zombies killing me endlessly.

Both times I've played this mod, with both maps I tried, everything was long thin corridors filled with endlessly respawning zombies that could kill you from ten feet away thanks to lag, and kill you instantly thanks to the "push off zombies" button apparently not doing anything. Nobody ever seemed to have any idea what to do, and overly dark maps + some characters not having flashlights is a horrible idea. Even with characters that DO have lights, they seem to be constantly flickering and weak, like every light in the game has dying batteries.
I was excited to download and play this, especially since Minuit and Rumpel were part of the team, but ended up extremely disappointed. :(

Hey guys, thought I'd mention here that I just got a copy of HL1 on Steam, so I can play and record Afraid of Monsters: DC properly for the playthrough videos I was making. Expect more sometime soon! ;)

I'm going to continue to make videos all the way through at least path 1. If there's enough response, I'll do 2, 3, and 4 if I can figure out how to enter the damn door code for 4.

I've beat the game four times now and saw the first three endings, but I can't figure out how to put the ten numbers of the code together.... >_>

I played on Easy, since I found the original AoM too hard (never got past the apartments >_>), and after the hospital didn't really run into any too-hard moments. By the end of the game I had quite the surplus of ammo, thanks to the axe. Those invisible face things that you first find under the tore up floorboards in the apartments have been toned down in strength a bunch, I see, which is really great.

I just finished the mod, and jesus man, this was fantastic. The balance between pitch black areas and lighter ones, and difficult encounters with enemies and easier areas was absolutely perfect. Great job, guys. I'm going to replay tomorrow night to try and get other endings, I can't wait to see what the "changed to gameplay based on what endings have been seen" the installer mentioned are.
My only complaints is I'm getting the boxes around transparent objects as well (Though it wasn't a game-breaker, thankfully, it didn't cause me too much trouble), and the machinegun weapons seem a bit out of place, since they replace my shotgun and have barely any ammo available.

*spoilers*
I'm not sure how to go about solving the coded door. I found five slips of papers along the course of the game, each with a letter and number on them (one of them found after I had passed by that door and couldn't return...). I guess I could try converting the letters to their numeric equivalents (a=1, b=2, etc) and enter them like that. Luckily once I saw the third set I had the foresight to wright them down (and remember the first two sets). :P

The one that starts after you enter the bathroom stall, I mean. It was absolutely perfect, man. :D I didn't like the rest of the hospital near as much (I play HL1 on the older computer in my room, which can only manage the game well on Software rendering mode, which makes the flashlight work very poorly :(). I don't really like excessive darkess to the point where you can be getting your *** kicked totally blind, honestly. It crosses the line from frightening to aggravating, a bit. Now I'm in the alleys, though and it's getting there are fewer pitch black areas and and less annoying traps. The new enemy beneath the apartment with the TV ****** me up bad when I first found it, though. >_> Hope the ammo I got from going down there is worth it.
This is definitely the scariest mod I've ever played, though. :) Congrats.
