I'm Cass. I go by Jaycemonde or Vatz as well (in fact, that's my whole name right there--CJV). I'm just your average neurotic artist furfag with a gun obsession. I signed on with ModDB a year or so ago in order to follow the Ballistic Weapons modpage and offer (mostly ignored) suggestions and feedback, and I also found S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Complete here as well--both mods are amazing works of art by anybody's standards. Anybody who's not a retard, anyway. I'm pretty friendly as long as you're friendly right back, so don't be afraid to say hi. I don't log on very often, though. Another thing I should mention. I tend to make myself look like an ass on public forums. If it's been about a month since I said something, just look at the keywords (such as pink camouflage) and ignore all the emotes and potentially rude words. (Fair warning: My Tumblr/homepage is slightly NSFW. Don't complain if you can't handle the way bodies look without clothes.)

I've actually gotten around to downloading the mod after putting it off for so long. Here's hoping there's at least one not-pervy HD model for characters like Alyx and Mossman, since otherwise it'd ruin what looks like a really kickass overhaul. And that'd be just a shame.

I tried doing all that a dozen times, then I gave up and decided to test the results in an actual match as opposed to the character editor. Turns out they work just fine in-game, but the MapMixer character editor forces human skeleton animations on all characters for an unknown reason, which has the result of everything additional floating in place. Once you get into an actual match, though, the tail waves and follows the butt like I assume is intended--I didn't see any particularly complex animations, but to be fair I didn't play in third person for more than a few minutes and probably just missed them. Sorry for troubling you with this, and keep up the good work.

TL;DR - Looks like they do work after all, but conflict with another mod that made it look like they weren't in the character editor.

While I'm here, though, I would like to ask what the deal is with custom character commissions, which I believe you mentioned on your profile. What kind of work would that be?

Tails aren't working. I've tried overwriting and reinstalling both Pennrose and Charolette (the only two I use) and I've followed the installation notes, but the tail just stays in the center of the character hitbox while everything else animates as normal.

EDIT: Apparently I was using the outdated Avania anims, from before Char even came out. I'll install the new ones and see if they do the trick.

I'm getting compatibility issues with this version of Lite and the Russian Overkill mod. Specifically, while Brutal still loads fine and the RO weapons and main menu work, I'm always assigned the default Doomguy instead of being able to pick one of the three RO characters, and the HUD, character sounds and starting weapon are all default. This happens regardless of load order. I'm testing this with other versions of Brutal Lite now, but I figured it should be made known.

The Elites need a lot of work, as well as the FriendlyName settings, but aside from some ragdoll glitches--which are pretty much unavoidable when using ports--and being overly shiny, the Spartan and ODST models are pretty great.

There's some kind of serious flaw in the HMC-117 photon cannon that renders the 25% power mode inaccessible unless the overcharged version is picked up, and then the so-called "overcharge" mode does almost no damage.

As long as one of those vehicles replaces the atrocious Cobra the Runestorm team stuck in there. That is the single ugliest and most embarrassing part of the mod. Get rid of that and you'd have nothing but awesome.

There IS gonna be a pink AK, right? I see all these new weapons, and they're all great, but the two things that I most want to know about are if the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Desert Eagle model are staying (I'd heard it's being replaced, and the current favorite model is terrible IMO) and if that all-important pink camo will be available.

The CYLO was intentionally made crappy. If you read up on it, the gun was designed as a ridiculously cheap urban assault weapon for guerilla forces and insurgents, and the manufacturers weren't exactly the brightest lot when they built the CYLO family (the "Sgt. Kelly Sales Pitch" of the weapon even goes so far as to mention the never-consistent fire rate).
The CYLO Firestorm IV has a more consistent firing rate because the person who made it was slightly more mechanically inclined, but it makes up for tarnishing the CYLO's flawless record by occasionally overheating.

It may be the Instagib Rifle now, but I'll always see it as the "Hellgun" from the Imperial armory in Warhammer 40k. Does it still have that gigantic power pack, or was it removed? While I didn't really like the big spikes sticking out the back, I think a gun that powerful having a pack does make a lot of sense.

I heard something a while back about replacing the Jack Carver Fisher11 weapons, but I just gotta say this: Keep the Desert Eagle model. I don't normally diss things, but it's way better than whatever you're currently using for all your current D. Eagle knock-offs, and it even has a proper ADS perspective that most of the guns lack. While I'm doing this, I just gotta mention that all the Redwood shotguns look obnoxiously shiny and rounded, and the Redwood rifle is also shiny (although there's nothing wrong with the shape). Is there a fix for that?

Also, when are we getting a camo update that gives the old guns more looks (and adds the all-important pink camouflage)? Haven't heard any news on that.

Anyway, great work in making BW what it is so far. I'll always be a fan :B

So, do you have new/updated weapon camos planned by any chance?

Also, there's a bug/glitch with the V9.1 (final release, not beta) SRS Mod-2 rifle, where sources of dynamic light (fan blades casting shadows, water reflections on walls, etc.) shine on a "ghost scope" on the rifle. What causes that?

I have to say I'm really seriously impressed with the BW community additions. I've been a fan of BW since it came out and I'm happy with the direction it's taking, but I do have a few bugs and suggestions I'd like to mention.

*Bugs:
-Sawn-off Redwood shotgun crashes the game when fired. Might have to do with the fire mode.
-Lasers on the SKAS grenade launcher (forgot what it was called, but you know which gun I'm talking about) come from the arm instead of the actual weapon.
-This isn't technically a bug, but the Plas-Edge and Dragonblade-thingy-awesomesauce-weapons have some akward-looking animations for the viewmodel. It's like you're holding them out at chest height with one hand at arm-length.

Suggestions:
-Update the original Runestorm and Jack_Carver/Fisher11 weapons to include random camo schemes (doesn't matter if they've got different stats or attachments).
-Need more guns with pink camouflage. That's what we're gonna need when the time comes to fight the bunny apocalypse.
-Any AK- or AN-series weapon (I'd suggest the AN-94 since it's the most "modern"). They may seem overdone, but logic says that soldiers the world over wouldn't use this one gun if it didn't have some serious battlefield merit.

*I'm currently still playing the beta version of the mod, so I don't know if these've been fixed yet.

There wouldn't happen to be any way to use the weapons in standard Loadout, would there? I've tried both the normal and Evolution Loadouts and the guns haven't appeared in either one (even after going through the settings and enabling everything), but from what I can tell from above comments it would only work with Evolution regardless.

I've only really got one question concerning the new content pack coming out, and that is: Are the new weapons (AH-104, XMB500, Elite A73, GRSXX, etc.) going to replace the older BW guns with the same models (AM67, XMV850, A73, GRS-9, etc.) or are they merely additions?
