A man after my own heart tib!
Looking swish guys. looks like you just dropped your line in the pond and were all starting to bite.
Scenery wise the game is looking amazing although from what the video showed the gore was a little dissapointing.
Keep it up and you already have my preorder from what i have seen over these past few months
My favourite HL Mod. I shall be backing this the whole way.
Will you guys be doing a preorder scheme or anything along those lines for the game when you arrive closer to a release stage?
Im voting on the basis of it being a damn good game. Cake bores me, bring on the dragons and sea monsters!
I don't believe the aim of the article was to convert anyone across games, more to enlighten people about what happened behind the scenes
Have to say its a very hard process for a team to admit their faults and the thing I took from this article more than anything was the amount you guys tried to rectify them. It is immensely useful to any developers to see such an indepth break down of the flaws in a development process of such a power house as Age of Chivalry. If anything the confirming of your weaknesses has only served to make me reminisce about your strengths. I personally feel the games biggest weakness ( from the time I returned to playing)was the community. For me it was unhelpful and competitive to a bitter extent. This is something no development team can really avoid. As for the strengths, before the arrival of Mount and Blade Warband, I still believe AOC had the best computer melee combat system. The character models, props, weapons and environments were always above average and the developers commentary always kept me hooked. My final point will be that the team themselves were conducted as professionals and this makes me believe it was the key to your success.I would hope all mod teams would take a look at this article from a veteran of the modding world and learn from your mistakes and take note of everything that you did right.
Keep on trucking fella! Think i am most looking forward to the multiplayer updates. Which also seem to be the ones your having the most trouble with. :)
Great new content guys, keep up the good work.
Cant wait for this, didnt realise how good it looked until i delved a little deeper and now im hooked.
Just seen this liking the look of it although i would recommend larger health bars so you can see them easier. In a beat em up action is usually fast paced and it helps to have things big bold and clear
Constant crashes when you swap map and swap server makes this fairly unplayable. When i could get in i was dissapointed. Sorry but i had higher expectations for this.
Only just spotted this but i am liking the sound of it
Fiends melee damage before was a two hit kill that could be done in the space of second. For a class that is mobile it is completely reasonable to reduce it to a 3 hit kill.
Noted, i will have a look into fixing them up
I recommend joining our steam group ( Steamcommunity.com) if your finding a lack of players in your timezone as we will post events when we do have get togethers and so on.
Hey JuQu, if you go to Covenmod.proboards.com , sign up and post in support your problme with some specs we should be able to sort it for you, failing that try the ZIP file
It seems like we are constantly awaiting Mod DB approval!
Currently our time is going into getting 3.0 ready for shipping and trying to get our servers ready for the new version. But be assured when 3.0 hits the shelves you will be wishing for a spare slot on a server :)
Surprised no one has posted on this, its one of my favourite screenshots :)
Great to hear you guys are going to give decadence a blast through, much respect to you all and good luck!
One of my all time favourites guys, Really cant wait. Some of the best fun I had was doing the fictional back story behind our match against the devs.
Let the phoenix rise!
Good to hear your back, Maybe this time you wont shut down the forums when the community starts to get good ;)
Its very odd but i tend to prefer my indie games on engines other than source. I reckon its probably that im so used to mods that indie games need serious work to lure me. Regardless as that does not have much to do with what is going on with your game but I will say it would be quite nice to see some more media or a bit more of a description. As for the "Its been done before" comments, I still feel that there is room to have it done right! Left 4 dead franchise, while being excellent for arcade style pick me up and play gaming seemed to lack a lot of substance for me after several play throughs. Also i was dissapointed when they changed the free roam idea from beta to the set course mapping we see in game today. Killing floor was close to the mark but lacked differential gaming from my perspective as sometimes it would be great to have a puzzle mixed in with the killing or some sort of objective. Anyway this may just seem like a pile of steamy toss or it may be helpful. Either way i look forward to watching you guys progress.
Nice looking. I would add a few chips to the stone and maybe a leather wrapped strap around the handle. I love the icon on it as well. Im loving this mod
This looks awesome how have i overlooked it?
Has a lot of potential, for a preview it is epic though i am looking forward to the final version.
Very detailed write up and for that alone i will be tracking the mod.
