it is some-what alienish.i mean the coloring is definitely not earth-like but the structures are kinda similar to things on earth.good job like always.

This is a nice shot, but when it instantly recalls environments of another epic game ( i.e. MHstudios comment, which my first thought as well ), you would be wise to take the concept into an alternate " environmental build " so as to avoid this.

Originality seems tough, given all the material already produced, but it's what everyone is looking for. Your the man to get it done Q.

I honestly didn't know about the Halo Concept Art when I did this. However, it's not a totally new idea for sure. But, I wasn't aiming for originality or unique environments here, I was just trying to get the job done. I've used several other fantasy concepts (for imaginable MMO projects) as my resource. A thick forrest with huge old trees is really not something new here, but again, I wasn't looking for originality.

Description

I'm currently working on some sample concepts for a professional game studio in Germany, which I'm in probation time at. This is the third approach of creating an earth-like landscape, which is supposed to be somewhat alien-ish.

Keep in mind that this is just a sketch, I'm going to try to realize this concept with the techniques of Matte Painting (Photomanipulation) and hopefully come to a good endresult.

There's not too much vegetation going on, because I didn't want to spend too much time on detailing, so I just added a few. The next sketch is probably going in a very similar direction.
