True Stalker

Mod review

If I was reviewing this as a full fledged AAA game I would not give such high mark. However, since this is a free community mod, also made for free I assume, it would be very rude from me to go any lower for the quality delivered.

GRAPHICS
The game clearly got a visual upgrade across the board and devs almost put the engine to it's limits. New shader effects, VFX, textures, models, animations. They tended to everything.

SOUNDTRACK & AUDIO
If I were to choose whether I enjoyed graphics or audio in this mod more, audio would win. The soundtrack, the ambient, sound effects, everything in terms of audio in this game is top quality, I would argue even AAA level.

GAMEPLAY
Nostalgic yet refreshing at the same time. This is the shortest description I can give. In more details, I'd say the core mechanics and gameplay loop is pretty much the same as in the original trilogy - you explore, loot, sell, get money, maintain your equipment, get better gear. Same old. However there are many minor additions and QOL improvements in many gameplay aspects.
MINOR SPOILER AHEAD
One more thing that definitely stood out in the True Stalker are new mutants, or rather, new types of old mutants. The way some of these were designed is just amazing. Not even the devs of original series were this innovative. Some of these actually felt like boss fights and I loved every second of it.

STORY
No spoiler review so I can't say much. But my honest opinion? The story and the way it's told is wayyy better than the original trilogy. There were some minor plot holes

STABILITY & BUGS
The game literally crashed on me ZERO times. And I only had one bug when dead NPC went in to a T pose. It's almost like it's not even a stalker game. In a good way.

PROBLEMS
One thing I had problems with on multiple occasions were some scripted events after cut scenes or important transitions. For example once I came from Garbage to Cordon and there were 6 bandits at the northern border camp right in front of me without having any time to get cover. On another side quest after a cut scene I am in a position where pack of dogs & snorks are literally 3 meters away from me when the cut scene ends & I died many times before I got out alive.
Another annoying issue for me was that for many missions and quests, I automatically fast-traveled to target locations even though I didn't want to because I wanted to pick some other things along the way or I didn't want to go yet, but I wasn't given a choice in some quests to continue the quest later.

TLDR: Don't just stand there? Get this mod and play it !

Bugs and glitches I noticed:

in some particular raining conditions, rain is extremely fast, it doesnt look natural at all its like super-fast rain drops on weed
fast travel glitches - even if I disable all fast travel options, I still can fast travel to all the TRAVEL marks and known locations I have visited, even though fast travel is completely disabled
AI is sometimes acting very weird - sometimes, NPCs just lag at their position, doing nothing, even if I or other NPCs are shooting at them, they will just not move a single inch, well easy kill for me, but its a huge bug
another AI thingy is awereness, sometimes I am sneaking in the dark and they notice me anyway and just start shooting at my position right away, in some other cases, they do not register me until I get very close (this has nothing to do with disquise system I am telling Ya'll, this thing is bugged AF), thus SNEAKING IS NOT WORKING AT ALL IN LATEST ANOMALY
I almost forgot, too often I notice that some weathers are broken; for example there are thick clouds and sun is not visible, but I can clearly see direct sun light being casted on objects and ground, even sun rays sometimes, SOME WEATHERS are really well made and seem very realistic and natural, but some are just bugged and inconsistent, need to be fixed, I hope authors are aware of these things

Suggestions:

more slots for special devices
more variants of batteries, like in Misery (with better capacities) I have found only basic orange ones in Anomaly
quick melee attack and quick mutant skinning (you must have knife in the slot but you dont need to equip it, character will automatically equip it for the animation) it is implemented in Dead Air addon I think
ammo magazines and separate belt for mags (like the one we have for artifacts), this is a must have !! ; I would make it, so each suit has their own amount of mag slots you can have equipped at once, and you can only reload using available mags in this magazine belt, would be really cool; for example rookie jacket would have 3 mag slots while military suits would have 8+ and so on...
compact work station - you still could just use mechanician's vices, but you could also buy or craft your own mobile version of the vice, which you can unpack anywhere on the go, like sleeping bag or tent mechanic are working, so you could make upgrades and fixes on the go anywhere in the Zone, of course this mobile kit would be very expensive and hard to craft and only available after you reach very good relations with a specific faction
since the standalone's name is Anomaly, I would welcome some introduction to new kinds of anomalies, like completely new with new mechanics, so player would actually had to get to know these anomalies and try and risk to enter them to see what will happen
graphics inconsistency - for my personal taste, Anomaly textures, models and colors are not proportionate enough, diversity is OK, but the overall look is not good in specific areas, for example MISERY mod for CoP does this really well, from ground textures to vegetation, mutants and objects - everything is well balanced, everything is "dead"; while in Anomaly I can get to areas where some objects looks pretty new and well preserved while vegetation is dead, or the other way around, green color palette in some areas is weird; vegetation lacks variation in models and sizes; most areas are populated with same model of grass and same size as well; it looks very artificial and generic, I know it would be a lot of work to make it look more natural and well balanced as this is more focused on gameplay and mechanics and missions rather than graphics, but I think some talented individuals could really make it look much better

Fallout 4

Game review

Okay this is a long time after I played this game. Game alone and later also with mods. I don't want to talk too much so.

The most important thing I think is, the taste of a player. There are some old school fallout fans that loved Fallout 4, and some that did not. There are some younger people that didnt play older Fallouts, and again, some of them loved the game and some did not. So I think review cannot be any helpfull in this case.

I can only say what I personally liked/hated about the game:

PROS
- workshop and huge potential in combination with some mods, but even without them, plenty of things to do
- weapon diversity and crafting / upgrading / building weapons, you can really make your own gun that suit your play-style the most
- Game Difficulty really matter (higher difficulty, more real damages, both for you and enemies and also higher chance to find better gear and weapons)
- Graphics, not so good, but better than in F:NW
-very detailed and quite huge world of Boston to explore, also DLCs, in matter of metres squared, it is probably smaller than Mojave in F:NW, but there are so many explorable buildings and so many underground levels that it overcome the amount of places you could visit in F:NW, simply ITS MUCH BIGGER
- I think I've played F4 twice, and it took me more than 300 hours in-game time, dozens of hours I just spent in some workshop building my own base etc. because it is really fun in F4, and building bases really makes sense as there are enemies, riders and robots that can raid your settlements
- characters and Commonwealth are truly alive - they are going from place to place, fight each other, hunt, garden etc.
There are much more good things about this game...

Cons
- optimization
- graphics was not bad, but could be much better for 2015
-another settlement needs your help ....
- you are given many quests without any interaction (for example you just visit certain place and you get a quest - breaking the immersion of a game imho) and also it sometimes caouse, that you don't know how to continue in some quests as you missed some important information / person / fight etc.
- there is some stereotype after playing longer, 90% of time, you just go to some place and kill everybody, take loot, some important item and so on
- also IN MY CASE, after almost finished the game twice, I really can't get back to it anymore, I mean, in my case, the playability is really low, you know all places, all missions all characters, and there are not many choices you can do differently

Just massive Zone in its finest. Great for all old stalkers who have played the stories of Stalker games dozen of times and now they just want to chill out and do whatfuckever they want to. :D This mod even supports other mods and tons of addons. I love it. I love it I love iiiiiit.
