I found this channel on YouTube that translated to English a lot of the old campfire conversations from the SoC and the like.

Really reminded me how great the atmosphere was when I first started playing and was talking with all of the Stalkers in the zone.

This addon was awesome to find right after seeing those videos, hope the dialogue matches faction personalities and is similar to some of the dialogue from the original games.

Side note, if anyone has any tips on how to downgrade Steam's SoC to 1.0005 that'd be appreciated. I've got resources on how to do it for GoG but since steam autoupdates, that won't work for me.

Years ago I used to have a way of essentially creating multiple versions of the game that worked fine, weren't pirated, and had 1.5 and 1.4 versions for all the modding fun.

Unfortunately for me I lost my files for that and don't remember how I did it in the first place, doesn't help half my Stalker links no longer exist :(

AMK is fantastic but is this compatible with the default Steam version? I did try and play it but got a crash after killing the bandits at the car park to rescue Nimble. I'm guessing it's meant for 1.0005? I tried looking for a crash log but no luck, log file came up blank.

Wish I read this before banging my head against the wall trying to do all the bandit playthroughs. I'll definitely edit things to make them closer in line in my next go around.

It's a bit disappointing after reading through the script file to see how Offline combat is calculated, I believe the Clear Sky mod Total Factional Warfare used individual stalker rank and armor to decide on Squad power instead of overall rank and whether there's a sniper rifle in use or not haha.

I'll probably just put a 0 on all boosts with maybe a 1 to Military and Monolith for lore's sake.

So after playing a few different Ironman games with No faction respawn, no faction pda markers, and more mutants from the optionals enabled, the game still crashes a lot, albeit a bit less than before.

That's the most common crash, and it usually happens in the mid game after my faction has taken a map or two. It's usually as I desperately fight off waves of military who seem to endlessly respawn even if I take most of their bases on the map with my faction having a similar number.

That crash is from the swamps in my current run as a bandit, where I started in Garbage and immediately left to take Cordon and then came to the Swamps. We wiped out Clear Sky and took the Southern Entrance, Church, and Machine Yard bases. I took out the military near the Church and cleared out the Old Tower, Fishing Hamlet, and Clear Sky Base. Even with all that it seems we lost the Garbage, Duty is taking Northern Cordon, and the military waves are too numerous as they take back areas of the swamps from the North, even sneaking squads down South to take our initial base.

Even without all the crashing, I'm not sure it's even possible to win as the bandits against the military as they take over most of the zone no matter where I spawn or what I've tried so far.

I should mention that I've seen Zombified Stalkers take random empty points in the Swamps as well as Clear Sky even though faction respawning is disabled and they were seemingly cleared off the map. Not sure how they're managing that so my next try may be with faction pda dots enabled.:\

Hey there. Really cool mod, A-life for me was disappointing with vanilla CoC and the more I play CoC and their derivatives the more cracks I see even with other A-life mods.

I played this one for the faction war as I can't find the latest Warfare mod anywhere and initial impressions are good. I was using the all factions at war setting and largest squad size options.

Unfortunately I was getting quite a few crashes with those settings so am reinstalling it with less large squads and no more respawning destroyed factions.

I also would like to try the lite mode with other addons like Questlines or even just Story mode to see how well it plays that way so I'll be doing some more testing.

Really enjoyable so far though, even with the crashes I appreciated all the systems at work and had some insane gun battles.

I play CoC and CoTZ so wish lite worked with both, but it is what it is. Appreciate you putting this up for us to enjoy!

Hey there, I play CoTZ heavily modded and CoC vanilla for a bit of an easier challenge and some variety.

Is this mod compatible with CoC, 1.4.22? I'm trying to keep my CoC stable and vanilla but at the same time, I wouldn't mine atmosphere and quality of life mods like this one if they work. Cheers!

I really enjoy the new atmosphere in the skies and textures, it can be a bit brown at times but I think it fits a lot of the scenery. Really enjoying it.

Only thing I don't like is the weapon textures. Some of the weapons like the AN94 Abakan were given these rustic looking textures that look really out of place. I am using the CoTZ Weapon Pack if that matters.

I have a friend who prefers these rustic weapons but I'd prefer them as an optional part of the mod. From what I've seen only certain weapons have these textures; the standard AK47 is normal for example. Very strange.

If the weapons had their textures change based on their condition I think that'd make more sense personally.

Either way it's still a great mod and I appreciate the work you've done on it!

Hi, this is a cool mod. I was using it and thought I forgot to check Ironman because I was able to load saves after dying and didn't get a message.

I am using the most recent version of this addon where it says that was added.

Would you be able to clarify the settings as well? Is death limit the starting lives you have, or the number of times you can die total regardless of extra lives.

Thanks and cool mod, makes Ironman a bit more forgiving while still being a tense experience.

Talk to a a neutral of any faction. You can hire them to help you look for it. This goes for most of the fetch quests. Bring them with you and after a little while in the area around the marker they should give you an exact location.

Fun addon, I'd like to wake the snorks up but that's just me. I may have gotten a bit unlucky but I saw a chimera and electric burer on my first night in the zone.

I play ironman and I've bumped up the percentage to 50% for next time :D. I usually have my mutants at 1.5 and stalkers at 1.0 so seeing mutants be more of a threat is always a joy. Might have to stop being a bandit and play a few mutant hunting Duty or Loner characters again.

Would there be an option to turn this off or restore CoC settings? I actually liked being able to kill the faction leaders if I'm hostile to them since it made the diplomatic changes and base raids seem more meaningful to me.

I recently turned down the opportunity to try and take out the mercs at their base as a bandit since I knew the important NPC's for that faction would be immortal (I have dynamic faction relations on so when they turn neutral it's interesting to not have the ability to do jobs for their leadership).

Gives more role play opportunities for certain builds/characters too.

Not sure if that's an older version or whatever it may be.

I'm just a bit antsy to download the HD models from the link I posted as I remember I had to mess with the files a bit due to a Rookie Loner being invincible due to one of the models. Definitely don't want to go through that nightmare again haha.

Still these portraits look great and I'd definitely use this mod if I can find the right HD models pack without the issue I mentioned.

Wanted to post a bug I've been having. Cannot find two hidden items in Zaton, one from an ecologist and one from a merc. I'm in an ironman run and was splitting hairs trying to find the items at both locations.

I understand that they aren't exactly where they're marked and have done quests like these before.

Reason I'm thinking it's a bug is because when I asked for a task and when talking to stalkers asking for help finding these items, the dialogue changes right in front of me.

It's an odd one.

I'm going to head back in and cancel these two quests, as well as the main quest, got pretty unlucky with it. This monolithian doesn't want to leave radar and I don't have any way of getting to him.

Hope some of these find the item tasks are reworked a bit, maybe the item is on a corpse or is stolen by a living Stalker or something like that. Would add some more dynamics to them.

Edit: Forgot to mention addons. I'm running with the updated CoTZ weapon pack, Eat Medkits Scheme,and Main menu music. Once I succeed or die this run I'll have to try a few more because some great ones have come out since I started this run! None of these should be conflicting though more to the point.

Cool mod, using it now.

One problem, consistent crash when donating a medkit to a companion that is injured. The medkit had one use left, this issue didn't seem to happen when I retested it by donating a medkit with more than one use left.

Hope you can look into this.

Hey again DoctorX, just wanted to say that I've gotten some friends into the mod and they've been enjoying it as well.

We would like to see two things though,

1.) Random locations when randomly selecting a Stalker and faction to start with, it seems to always start you at the default location (Rookie Village for Loners, Clear Sky Base for Clear Sky, Rostok for Duty, etc.).

2.) More random loadouts for new characters, always getting a pistol as a Loner can be a bit frustrating, maybe a shotgun or low tier smg every now and then would help with the variety in ironman runs.

Thanks again for the great mod, been having a lot of fun with it.

Oh and I forgot to mention, in survival mode don't go to sleep for more than an hour, the game can't handle the number of things going bump in the night. Sleep for exactly one hour though, and you'll have a hell of a fun time trying to not horribly die.
