Will Wright was not involved with the design of this game however. Will left Maxis in '09 so the real blame should be put on the remainder of Maxis. And even though they're only the publisher, EA still has a huge say in design since they control the funding.

Well, everything was correct. But I've figured out a workaround. After I set the path to said gib model i just remove everything before the /models/woodgib.mdl and it works fine.
Not sure if this has been pointed out or not. But when I set a gib model for a func_breakable it'll reference it as home/half-life/valve/models/woodgib.mdl instead of /models/woodgib.mdl so half-life will instead look for /models/home/sierra...ect and return an error. I have to open the .map file in notepad and fix the paths before I compile each time I save.
Not sure if it's just me or what.
