Well elite infantry can fair well against light cavalry even in bfme 2.
There will actually be some bearded variations.
Lots of weapons but the armor more or less will be the same throughout.
The axe is a "dagger axe" a type of polearm used by the chinese, they have more diverse weapons, I just went with the most unique one for the render.
The actual armor is based off many eastern/asian armor designs but most notably is the eastern cataphract armor as Fredius pointed out.
Since they'll play an elite infantry role for Mordor, and serve as a direct contestant to Anorien swordsmen, I did try to integrate some of the Gondorian's look but made it heavily eastern and evil. The cone helmet is in my opinion pretty different from the rest of the stuff we've currently done (mind you the Men of Dale from HD Edition aren't used here) and the current MOD helmet is based off the films.

British Architecture? The new buildings are based off various Minas Tirith references i.e. for the Archery Range tower ...
But to be honest, the vanilla Gondor models aren't that bad, we only did new ones because we wanted to.

Lol those models might have actually been in THL at one point if I didn't decide to do my own.
Sage engine is untouched really, we stay up to date with patch 2.02 though and they maybe be modifying the game.dat further. Mounted Nazgul will use their Fellowship of the Ring look for the most part. As for Music we are staying with the LOTR music.
In the worldwide map no, but if you recruit them on the battlefield you can carry them with your army.
There will be a few new units from Rhun available on a few Rhun related maps via the Inn.
Lol it's not as easy as one might think.
For the most part unchanged, but the Mumakil may be scaled a bit.
The house colors are part of the main game, and removing them would require coding changes. Doing that would make HD edition not work with others without also having that change.
So unfortunately you'll have to deal with it, but i do believe the HC in HD Edition is much better than what was in the vanilla game.
