I'll preface this by saying I used to be a long time Ultimate Apocalypse player. I used to love that mod. It felt like a whole new experience, and then it just tanked and went to hell by adding unnecessary bloat, and generally poor content...

I needed something to fill the void left by old UA, and found out about Unification probably back around February of 2022. I cant see myself playing any other mod now. Its great, I love the rebalances/reworks of Vanilla races, plus new additions to them. I love all the new Factions, game mode modifiers, and the campaign currently in progress. The effects, the modeling, custom voice lines, the list goes on.

At the time of this review the new factions include: Adeptus Mechanicus, Ynarri, Dark Angels, Space Wolves 13th Company, Chaos Daemons, Thousand Sons, Tyranids, World Eaters, Death Guard, Death Korps of Krieg, Steel Legion, Black Templar, Blood Angels, Imperial Fist Siege Regiment, Emperor's Children, Inquisition Daemonhunters, and Witch Hunters, with more on the way...

I realize not everyone likes the same things, and this mod may not appeal to everyone, but that's okay, I love it and that's all that matters to me. I genuinely wish these guys the best in their future endeavors, they're great at what they do. They listen to feedback and communicate with the community regularly.

This mod makes the game feel like it should; varied ships, ridiculously over the top battles, customizable campaign settings. You can play with small tactical fleets or have so many ships on screen you run at .5 frames per second. I refuse to play the game without this mod now.

I used to love this mod back when the original team had made it, it was fun and action packed. Now it seems its a bug ridden mess. Stuffing as much content into it as possible doesn't make it good, some of the units & buildings seem like they were added just for giggles.

I actually feel like I'm commanding a military campaign....

I started as England and crushed the Spanish & French Navies, put the French dockyards on blockade and now I'm leading an invasion out from Madrid. The AI is pretty fiesty lol, but my troops are better trained. I love seeing about 8,000 British troops marching onto the battlefield. Marching on the campaign map I have about 30,000 men going through Spain & lower France, the feeling is just epic! This mod made me love playing Napoleon Total war again. It will keep me going back for more, except when I'm playing DarthMod for Shogun 2!!!

This is truly a great gaming experience made by a spectacular modder. I think Creative Assembly has a few things to learn from you.
