I run Win 7 so I'm afraid I'm unsure, but if you follow the instructions I don't see any reason why it should not work :) Also I don't believe anyone has ever complained about it not working on Win 8, so the chances are that if it didn't work someone would have said by now...but of course that's based on assumptions.

I'm afraid Codex will likely remain the only mod produced, and whilst nobody can tell the future, the chances of another mod are fairly slim, sorry.

Having an idea is the first step to modding for yourself, though!

Have you disabled UAC?

Copy the file 'codex_3_5'.module from either of these locations to the main Soulstorm directory.

If you run the game on steam, then copy the file from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Dawn of War Soulstorm\codex_3_5

If not, then copy it from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Dawn of War Soulstom\codex_3_5

Hope this helps :)

NB. It may just be 'Program Files', depending on if you're running a 32- or 64- bit operating system.

Nope, sorry; it is only compatible with mods that only add new races.

Try disabling User Account Control before downloading, or if that doesn't work try switching to Chrome.

Nice original idea, would be great to try and get more new models in as well :)

I know it's WIP, but maybe make the blue a bit less bright? :)

Thank you very much! We wish you a wonderful new year as well. Whilst things are still quiet, there is still the chance of occasional updates by deathwatch78 on textures.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the community as a whole for their patience and wish everyone a happy new year!

Well here's a link to the mod on mediafire ( Mediafire.com (you'll need an account to view/download them)), but you should be able to pause normal downloads anyway.

Indeed, although unfortunately Boothy is not currently working on it; any work done will just be deathwatch working on modelling/texturing.

I'm afraid they never made it into 3.5, although should be in the next version :)

Unless it has gone through boothy, there is no chance of anyone else taking over coding :)

I'm afraid there is currently no one responsible for gameplay/balance/coding at this time; that part is still on hold unfortunately.

My guess would be because Gamespy, which supported the servers, has shut down...but I believe there should be a work around if you do some Googling :)

Sorry, the instructions seem to be a bit outdated. Instead of copying the file, open "codex_3_52".module located in "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\dawn of war soulstorm". Then replace the bottom paragraph (the one with all the required mods) with:

RequiredMod.1 = Tyranids
RequiredMod.2 = BTmod
RequiredMod.3 = codex_base
RequiredMod.4 = DXP2
RequiredMod.5 = W40k

It's fine to run it with Steam.

It entirely depends on which races you want to play with; if you wish to play with Tyranids and Black Templars, then you do need to download them.

Nope, WinRAR is free. If you've been getting mods for a while you should be familiar with RAR files.

First make sure you actually have an unzipping program installed, and if it does still not show up then click 'browse' and find it in its directory.

You can get WinRAR here: Win-rar.com

Select a program which unzips files (WINZip, WinRAR, 7Zip etc.)

Try downloading it incrementally from here: Mediafire.com

Download all the different parts, then 3.5. The two files at the bottom are to replace files which are often corrupted, so you may want to replace those as well if you receive any errors.
