That is a very impressive list, Alex! :)
I agree with what other people have put - it can be difficult to find time. However, it is an enjoyable page to visit when time can be found.
Thank you, Merry Christmas to you as well! Sorry for the late reply!
Very good, I like the medieval Scandinavian and English references. I also commend your image-invoking powers of description!
Very nice, I can see some influences from The Lord of the Rings Online!
Amazing work! It's hard to believe all this has been done by just one person.
Thank you, and you! I apologise for the 7 month late reply...
Would you ever consider porting this to Total War: Warhammer when it's released? Considering it's got flying mounts and magic it looks like a far better engine to base a Lord of the Rings mod. Furthermore, there'll be plenty of useful ready-made animations, such as that for trolls, since Warhammer fantasy has some similar races to Lord of the Rings.
Good work, but maybe darken the blue more?
Looks good, but maybe make the hood not quite as low hanging? If I remember correctly, you've used the ranger armour from the Skyrim mod?
I run Win 7 so I'm afraid I'm unsure, but if you follow the instructions I don't see any reason why it should not work :) Also I don't believe anyone has ever complained about it not working on Win 8, so the chances are that if it didn't work someone would have said by now...but of course that's based on assumptions.
I agree that there needs to be some rebalancing; as Gondor I found my units were strangely ineffectual against regular orcs, and especially Morgul Riders.
I'm afraid Codex will likely remain the only mod produced, and whilst nobody can tell the future, the chances of another mod are fairly slim, sorry.
Having an idea is the first step to modding for yourself, though!
Have you disabled UAC?
Copy the file 'codex_3_5'.module from either of these locations to the main Soulstorm directory.
If you run the game on steam, then copy the file from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Dawn of War Soulstorm\codex_3_5
If not, then copy it from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Dawn of War Soulstom\codex_3_5
Hope this helps :)
NB. It may just be 'Program Files', depending on if you're running a 32- or 64- bit operating system.
Nope, sorry; it is only compatible with mods that only add new races.
Try disabling User Account Control before downloading, or if that doesn't work try switching to Chrome.
Nice original idea, would be great to try and get more new models in as well :)
He's Isildur's squire who returns the shards of Narsil to Rivendell.
Thank you, Merry Christmas to you as well! :)
Thanks, Merry Christmas to you too!
I know it's WIP, but maybe make the blue a bit less bright? :)
Thank you very much! We wish you a wonderful new year as well. Whilst things are still quiet, there is still the chance of occasional updates by deathwatch78 on textures.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the community as a whole for their patience and wish everyone a happy new year!
Well here's a link to the mod on mediafire ( Mediafire.com (you'll need an account to view/download them)), but you should be able to pause normal downloads anyway.
Indeed, although unfortunately Boothy is not currently working on it; any work done will just be deathwatch working on modelling/texturing.
Glad to hear it, thanks :)
I'm afraid they never made it into 3.5, although should be in the next version :)
Unless it has gone through boothy, there is no chance of anyone else taking over coding :)
