I ended up starting the mission over from scratch and cheating myself the keycards to get back to where I was quickly, and ran into the same issue. I was using the latest version of eduke32 so I tried again after reverting to the one that came with the mod and it seems to be stable now, so that answers the above question I guess: just leave it be!

I have a question though: how does the save system work for research and such? I picked up a "mound of skulls" artifact during the course of the level the first time but skipped over it on my recovery runs. If I aborted the mission or just started over from a "new game", does it still count as picked up, or do I need to go get it again on this save file?

It doesn't seem to have helped.

I've noticed that bullet/hitscan weapons crash the game almost instantly, but others, like that red beam weapon seem to be OK unless I kill an enemy with them - then it's back to crash town. I tried not using any weapons and running past all the enemies but there's a hallway with a pig cop tank that triggers the game to crash when I traverse it regardless.

I seem to have gotten myself into a situation where firing a weapon in the "Zeta Base Upper" map causes the game to crash. Is there anything I can do to get out of this predicament? I just used the yellow keycard and I'd really prefer not to have to start over again.

It should be disabled by default, but you can toggle it by typing 'skillsforkills' into the console or setting bNewSkillSystem to false in deusex.ini.

Hi, sorry for taking so long to get back to you on this.

I tested ballistic armor and couldn't find anything wrong with it. It didn't protect from electrical or EMP damage in my tests. Are you sure you didn't have a hazmat suit or the environmental protection aug on? It does protect you from explosions, but that's intentional and accurate to the base game.

And unfortunately what it would take to make Biomod TNM compatible is a bunch of work re-writing their replacement augs and items to try to merge my changes with theirs and testing it all to make sure it doesn't break anything, which I just don't have the time/energy to do at this point in my life. Sorry about that.

I haven't had the time to fully test mod combinations like that, but theoretically there's no reason why it shouldn't work.

It's fixed. My description of the fix in the changelog was a little vague in an attempt to avoid spoilers, but it's in there.

Hi,

The version of Shifter that Biomod 1.0 is based on doesn't support HDTP Release 2, so that's probably the source of your issue. For now if you want to use Biomod with HDTP I recommend unifiedDeusEx Moddb.com as it includes the latest version of Shifter, which supports HDTPr2.

Hey, don't worry about it. I've been really busy lately, and it sounds like you've made it even better than I could've anyway.

What specific things about Biomod didn't you like? I'm just curious.

In my testing, that variable would reset itself every time you change maps/missions, making it unfeasible to play on anything other than the default. That and the stealth bonus prompted me to simply remove it rather than to turn it off by default as I had originally planned.

Because there are people who feel that it encourages a certain kind of playstyle over all others, and I agree. It also adds a ton of skill points to the pool, which detracts from the balance of the skills because you can simply get all of them, or close enough.

That is indeed what it means.

Not in the immediate future, but I'll probably do it eventually.

Assuming HDTP ever does come out, it would definitely take some work from either myself or Yukichigai to get it working with Shifter/BioMod. So, don't expect it on the day of release, but it'll probably happen eventually.

You can mitigate it somewhat by using a laser sight. As for your problem, that's exactly my intention - to make installing scopes a strategic consideration rather than a no-brainer.

You need an athletics skill of advanced to grab ledges.

The ADS thing is the same behavior as the original game, but you're right that it is more of a problem when you leave it on indefinitely. I'll have to do something about that.

As for the weapon balance changes, those are all due to a global change to the damage formulas that I was testing. I had meant to disable that for the public version, but I guess I forgot. I'll turn it off in the next version.

No. For new textures and models you'll need to download New Vision and HDTP.

Actually scratch that. As of the new version that I'll be uploading soon, I've enabled climbing on crates and other such things.

Any ledge that is part of the game world (ie. not a pushable crate). See the trailer for an example.

If you're using an old save game you'll need to go through a level transition before some of the changes will take effect.

It's DeusEx.int and if you copied it into the right folder, it should've replaced the old file already. Whatever you do, DON'T delete your DeusEx.ini or the game will not start.

That particular MiB? That's some pretty fast playing if you started from the beginning. Did you load a savegame made with Shifter or vanilla DX? If so, you'll probably need to go to a new map before some of the changes will take effect.

In what way did it not work? Was there an error message?
