just another reminder folks -- check out TRA+, which is a little unofficial patch for TRA that balances/polishes up the gameplay a bit better than the original ;p
includes various bugfixes, faster paced economy, lots of improvements to crap units etc etc

easy/med/hard AI's suck yes... just stop playing those lol.
play brutal if you want a half-decent challenge, and if you can beat that comfortably come play me ;)

id just like to chip in here -- i think the AI has been done up very well in TRA

im aware how annoying and fiddly it can be to mod AI in this engine, so i totally appreciate the work you guys put into it.

note i usually play brutal AI and it gives me a pretty good challenge - so im quite happy with it... the other AI's though, not as much, but it doesnt bother me at all since i dont play them lol

rocket inf are only op vs infantry, not tanks... infact theyre still pretty crap vs tanks.
i beat brutal ai so many times now i feel its a joke now :/

as soviets just spam a billion heavy tanks and just maybe a few riflemen and rocket inf... dont bother with other units though because theyre just trash (includes mammoths, flamethrowers, shocks etc)

i feel some patching would help greatly because its still a complete tankspam game not very different from the original - while thats fine in a way, it also gets a bit old quickly

whatever you do, please dont drop the ball on this one - you may take your time, but a few patch updates would go a long way in refining this mod that holds so much potential :)

mammoths have been trash in every cnc, believe it or not.
a mass of low tier tanks has always dominated cnc games, and in some titles, infantry masses have been made viable too... but mammoths in any form have never really been that good.

theyre particularly bad in ra1 though, and this mod pretty much mirrors that. i agree that sucks though, and i think mammoths do need to be better vs smaller tanks, but i think their rockets will need some toning down vs infantry; right now theyre more of an anti-infantry/air/building unit with the ability to lightly defend itself vs other tanks.

as for rocket infantry, im hearing too much crap about them being too strong in this mod -- theyre only too strong vs infantry/aircraft... theyre still pretty crap vs tanks. Get a mass of tanks and you still crush inf masses with impunity.

hi carnius, just played some games online with a buddy on TE, and i have to say i was just blown away; top marks for everything!
im a fairly experienced cnc3/kw online player and i was very impressed not only by the feel of the visuals/audio etc, but also the gameplay quality, strategic diversity and balance :)
never seen a mod mix the best of both worlds in this way.
just one small suggestion - youre welcome to take it or leave it:
reduce harvester health like in KW - imo it makes for more dynamic harassment with bikes/orcas etc, and also makes harvs a bit less silly at crushing, lol.

i did the last mission by owning all 3 factions bases one by one and gaining map control.
spammed ticktanks+jeeps, followed them with an mcv, and had 2-3 more mcvs built at base.
i used the mcv build queues to constantly spam emp turrets to power down the enemy defences while my tanks+jeeps mopped stuff up ;p

btw is it possible to create/release a 'partial' assetbuilder to modify only a few xmls?
eg say i just want to mess with weapon and armor xmls.

is it possible to make a buildmod.bat that only creates mods based off these 2 files?

if its possible, would you do it? :p
or are you only intending to create the 'final' assetbuilder that recognises and compiles all xmls?

im just kinda itching to mod a few stats values in kw :(

uh more like he wont release kw xml files because EA does not permit it atm. and gr hasnt 'given away' xml files... they only released the KW1.00 weapon/armor xmls.
they arent allowed to make any kw1.02 files public.
