Even if your dad's friend disagrees with that, every game I know of thats involved with World War II (such as, Return to Castle Wolfenstein) that reaches German shores is edited to not have any content that may refer to Nazi's; Swastzthcikas (lol I cant spell that :P ) and such. Even if theyre not quite 'Ashamed' im sure that they would rather that that dark period of human history be forgotten.
Hell, I see Swaztchikas here too in the bathrooms and such. I live in Miami, go figure. But yeah, thats what I meant, not quite ashamed but im sure you wouldnt want to be remembered as a country that slaughtered and tortured 5 million innocent people over their religious beliefs O_o
